Joe Johnson must be relieved that we are down to one table now. He was paired up with Philip Studd yesterday, and Studd insisted on describing what was happening on the other table 75% of the time. Johnson first tried a subtle approach, reminding viewers they could watch the other match on Eurosport2, but Studd wouldn't take the hint. Johnson then actually suggested they concentrated on their match, but again Studd would have none of it. No distractions today luckily.
Good win for Robertson earlier, he seems to have played himself into form now. He got a bunch of his trademark long pots and scored pretty well too. It was the first time this week that he wasn't really giving a bunch of chances to his opponent. Should be great if he meets Ding in the final.

Joe must be relieved indeed. Don't you just love listening to him commentating. By far my favorite Eurosport commentator...unasuming and with a wicked sense of dry humor.
Yeah good win for Robbo earlier, it seemed rather easy but it really wasn't. However Ali got his back up as usual after some bad luck. He really needs to not take that all to seriously or personally. The way he reacts will only affect him negatively and his opponent will pick up on it.
This Semi feels like a rather good one. Hopefully Mike can keep it up and make things difficult for Ding, and take his chances.

Yes, I don't have anything bad to say about Johnson really. He doesn't talk too much, he doesn't keep going on about it whenever players play a shot he disagrees with, and he is happy to admit he doesn't know everything about the game. You can hear in his voice that he absolutely loves commentating.

Exactly! Very unlike for example a certain obnoxious Eurosport commentator who managed to lose after being 8-2 up in a best of 17 Masters Final against Hendry

Yeah.
Funnily enough, I used to really like Mike Hallett when I started watching snooker, and now I just find him miserable and not particularly knowledgeable. I don't know if it's him that's changed down the years, or just my taste in commentators.

Bit of both I suspect But yeah, Mike is the worst. I assume he means well though. Won't judge him not knowing him personally. But he could use a bit of coaching from Joe
I don't think I've ever seen Ding so determined and sharp. I really can't see Dunn getting close to him. He's one of the very best players in the world playing his A game. I'd be surprised if Mike gets a single frame on the board.
