  • That was a great frame of snooker, and a big one in the context of the match, felt like a decider. Ding always looked the more composed of the two though.

Quite a few finals have gone this way this season, one player taking a good early lead, but of course it doesn't mean the match is over. The World Open final was 7-2 to Murphy as well, but it went 7-5 pretty quickly in the final session. Robertson will really have to play well to come back though, as I don't see Ding struggling to put frames away from here...

    • Nice Black ball finish to that frame.

6-3 would have given Neil a better chance and put a bit more pressure on Ding but cannot really see him losing this now or since frame 1 really.

Well played Ding, looking forward to his attempt at the WC and make it six for the season.

      • 7 - 2 down. Yikes.
If Neil can put a couple of frames on the board then that might put some pressure on Ding.

          • Ding looked a bit frustrated to me in the last few frames but was cool until then.

What I didn't get was Neil shaking his head when he was tight up behind the green and was trying to jaw the white to send it down the rails.

He was saying after first attempt, which was no where near, how can that be a miss and then again after the second, which was unlucky to hit the middle jaw but still a mile away.

He was trying a hard escape from a great snooker, no way that wasn't miss all day long trying that shot. Pretty rare a miss doesn't get called, but have seen some refs not call it due to hardness, being very close etc but Ding could have got a nice 20 points from that snooker and would be the one harshly treated if no miss was called.

As it was he hit it on the third attempt but unless it went in it was sticking over one of the pocket so I thought it was a strange escape but at point I guess Neil thought it was all going against him.

                • This first frame is a big one for Robertson. Ding has already wasted two chances with poor positional shots, and now Robertson hasn't landed on a colour either. A bit unlucky for both, to be fair.

Hard to believe really. How can you cover every single session of an event for 7 days and then not bother to show the final session?

I can sort of understand British Eurosport showing the Davis Cup tennis on Eurosport 2 (though you have to ask yourself how many people in Britain that want to watch the tennis would watch on Eurosport rather than BBC 1) but cycling? Would love to see the viewing figures for that!

Same here with swedish Eurosport. Can watch it on Eurosport player though, but without any commentary. Anyone know of if there is a radio stream somewhere? Sky? BBC?

Not sure, but I imagine they're not too bad. These races are not televised by any local channel here, so the only way to watch them is on Eurosport. If it's the same for most countries, then Eurosport might get decent figures across the continent. And it is one of the biggest classics, so roughly the equivalent of a ranking final in snooker.

That being said, I am currently getting the cycling on Eurosport1, while Eurosport2 is showing a repeat of yesterday's football match between Augsburg and Bayern. Now that's truly ridiculous.

Interesting. I assumed it was just in the UK that Eurosport was not showing the final live this afternoon.

On match day in the Bundesliga, so Saturdays and Sundays, I always get football on Eurosport2, absolutely no exceptions! And if the other channel is taken with live cycling, that's it for snooker unfortunately. It happens a lot, so I am used to it by now. They have all the time and space in the world to show snooker during the week, especially the morning matches from China, but the weekend is a different story.

Not too bothered today though, watching it in peace on the Eurosport Player.
