  • Happy for Fu after Robertson's needless slow play.

If it did then Robbo has himself to blame, if he can't work out that the table has rolled off after 9 frames then he can't really blame anyone but himself. IMO he bottled it all the way that frame. From the red and blue that took 5 minutes, to the missed position on the red after potting the blue, then missing a fairly easy pink to middle, to the miss on the green when in a great position going down to the colours.

That will be a damaging defeat to his confidence and for me that tells me enough that he has no chance of the world championship this year. If he can't handle the pressure in a last 16 match in this event he simply won't handle the pressure of the crucible.

        • Only downside is that I believe Selby has an easier run to the final now. Hoping the winner comes from the top half, i.e. Ding, Trump or Allen.

I agree with you Cueman...I was just skeptical as it seemed so unbelievable to miss such an easy pink at their level. anything can happen in snooker...Tough blow for Neil anyway and good win for Marco.

            • A good result for Mark Joyce who goes on to play Marco Fu. It's a pity that Kurt Maflin couldn't progress any further. He is also a very good player.

So looking ahead. McManus is playing Selby and I'd love for Alan to win but I think Selby will cruise through. Fu will beat Joyce so that would mean that Selby would play Fu. Fu should win this. I don't think Selby has brought his A game.

Really looking forward to the Ding vs Murphy match. Is that televised?

He did lose to Fu in the International Championship this season, 6-5, so it's still pretty tough.

Great match this morning, high-quality early on and some tense frames towards the end. Fu took some tricky shots on that backfired, and he refused some equally tricky ones that he probably wished he would have gone for later. Unlucky for Robertson on that final pink, but it's kind of hard to sympathize with him after that ridiculous break early on in the decider.

Good win for Selby as well. I didn't see much of that match, but Liang did have a chance to make it 2-2 at the interval, and who knows how that match would have played out in that case. But Selby finished with two centuries after the interval, so he is looking pretty good for the weekend. He is in a similar position to Robertson last season, very consistent, but still without a major title with only the two Chinese events and the WC to go before the end of the season. Robertson managed to get the China Open last year, so maybe Selby can do something similar.

                  • Pretty happy for McManus as well! It's great to see him rolling back the years and still be able to perform! Go on Alan!

                      • I think are a lot of players just seen more up for it since the 128 draw, good to see Angles mixing it with the bigger names.

                            • 110 for Judd...3-0. He is on fire! At least Higgins managed to score in that one (12 points).
