What a horrible way to lose. Gutted for Dott.
I don't make any secret of the fact that I don't like Murphy, but I have to say he looked genuinely embarrassed and sorry (not literally, of course) for Dott after fluking that black. No consolation to Greame, but."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

I'm sure he was genuinely sorry to have won in that way.

Having said that, he doesn't do himself any favours when he goes on one of his self-righteous O'Sullivan bashes.Last edited by Billy; 14 March 2014, 05:27 PM."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

My personal perception of him is wrong.

Allen 6-5 Murphy...
Selby 6-4 Fu...
I really think the top semi could go either way but Allen thrives in this event and I expect him to edge it...Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

I think both matches are tough to call today...
Murphy's record in these situations hasn't been the best recently, but he has a habit of playing a good match whenever I write him off. He himself has called Allen a "massive favourite" in their match, which is an interesting mindset if he really believes that. But I can see where he is coming from, he hasn't won a major event in more than five years, while Allen is looking to win this one for the third time in three years. Allen has impressed me more so far this week, getting through a fairly tough draw which included an in-form Higgins yesterday. He has never really been in trouble at any point and he seems to be scoring pretty heavily. Murphy on the other hand could easily have lost yesterday, giving Dott three good chances in the decider before he fluked the final black. He has survived two deciders in a row now, so things are going for him... But I don't know, I have a feeling Allen will be too strong today, 6-3.
Selby and Fu? They often seem to produce high-quality matches, so I'm looking forward to it. Fu was the winner when they met in the International Championship this season, taking the last two frames with big breaks to win 6-5. He has got through a couple of close matches this week as well, lucky to survive against Robertson and lucky to win the last two frames against Joyce as well. He seems to have two modes this week, either winning frames in one visit, or playing nervy close frames decided on the colours. Well, Selby is a masters of those, so Fu will be hoping for some one-visit exchanges instead. Selby has won his matches more comfortably with every round, but this is the first time he is facing a really top player. He is the best player not to win a major tournament this season, losing in the final of the biggest two, and reaching at least the QF on seven occasions. Fu on the other hand is one of only four players to win anything major, the only one still standing this week, so it would be amazing if he could continue that statistic with the title here. Close match surely, Selby to win 6-5.
