For me it's all about how confident the Rockette is feeling in the moment, and that's why him losing the match vs Delu was so important. Don't know if he has entered for the China Open, but if he looses against one of the lower-ranked players in that tournament as well, then that's another notch down the confidence-ladder. Which all bodes well for other players...him not feeling up to par in time for when the WSC comes around...the more chances other players have of beating him...which is a very good thing in my book.
I wish I could play as good as I can judge other peoples play, I called both of o'sullivans misses before he hit the cue ball. First was the missed blue when he was stretching too much and then added loads of side and the last red he played that missed to the centre. These were two shots that lost him the match. I don't think Delu would have beat Ronnie over a longer match but well done to him , plenty of ball to play the way he did.

what crap are you talking. last season he lost to bedford 3-4. did it shatter his confidence.he won the WSC after all
this season he had many losses at the ptcs and some major ranking events but he still won CoC, Masters and the Welsh. His confidence is sky high atm. with due respect to delu, he wont win anything big in this game. but he played lights out today and deserved it.
Yup always the favorite...as he was for this one as well..see what happened But WSC are longer matches, so in his favor I must admit. Still...you never can tell. One good player in form and the rockette is out.
Yeah, like when Selby beat him at this year's masters, or Barry Hawkins or Stuart Bingham beat him at the world champion...oh hang on, that didn't happen!

Very simple my dear friend...the more the rockette loses, the more his confidence will sap away...the more chance other players have. It's very simple really...but there's no shame if you cannot grasp this. Just stick to what you do understand and you will be fine
Meantime this is turning into another fine match. Seems like both players are up for it...
Other players having a chance and being guaranteed to dump him out of the tournament are entirely different things.
Agree and I didn't proclaim otherwise. But for other players to have any chance to win against the Rockette, it is utterly necessary for him to not feel on top of the world, or otherwise indeed there is little chance for other players at all. But...if his confidence is lower and he will doubt himself at times, and makes mistakes, and let's it get into his head...then we have a chance. That's all I'm asking for really
In longer frame matches he is a different caliber. He hasnt lost a 19 or more frames match since the loss to higgins at the WSC 2011 if i remember correctly
