Did you see that exocet of a red he knocked in towards the end of the match? It was born of frustration but he just got down and hammered it in, Truump style. It was quite spectacular.

When Luca runs out of position, or is in a bad situation, he should ask himself "what would John Higgins or Ronnie O'Sullivan do in this situation", instead of just going for impossible shots.
so did Ronnie when he first turned pro he didnt develop a safety game into around 1997

He's playing quite well isn't he. I thought he was going to lose that forth frame when he played a loose safety on the last red, letting steadman in, but so far so good for the Nugget.

Drago could be very fortunate if Brecel stays in the provisional top 64 he sneaks onto the tour next season

Wattana has dropped as has Adam duffy, Jamie O'Neill, Simon Bedford, Passakorn Suwannawat, Michael Leslie, Sean O'Sullivan, Mo Khairy, Stephen Lee, Stephen Hendry and Hassan Vafaei Ayouri

                  Yes. I think that's right.

And Steadman is slowly pulling away from him. 4 - 2 now.

Yes but young Ronnie was getting much better results than Luca. It's not only his safety game, its also his shot selection and above all his positional play.
Hope these things improve when Luca gets older...

i think this is first World Championship since 1980 without Tony Knowles and also Less Dodd who played in everyone between 1983-2013 and he only qualified for the Crucible on three ocassions in 1983, 1993 and 1994 correct me if I'm wrong

I thought with Sam Baird losing 10-9 yesterday to John Astley that Tony Drago was off the main tour but as you say he as to rely on Luca getting into the top 64 to be sure of his tour place for the next two years is that correct.

Steve Davis wins the final frame of the session to effectively keep his hopes alive at 6 - 3 to Steadman.

Exactly. He's still only young, just 19, so there's plenty of time for him to mature, but I haven't noticed much improvement in his game over the last few seasons, which is a little disappointing. Having said that, I thought he played better in the second session, giving trickier shots a bit more though. Lets see how he does against Delu this afternoon. Shame that one's not being streamed, should be an interesting match.
