It's good to see Robin Hull doing well again. He's been in excellent form this week. I am not surprised by this as on his day he is a handful for any opponent and always was an excellent break builder. I remember well his run to the Quarters of the Regal Welsh in 2003 in which he pushed Mark Williams so close and forced Williams to produce his A game. He could have done so much more in the game had it not been for his poor health, it's a shame he doesn't play more often but it would be an excellent story if he could beat Ebdon and make it back to the Crucible.

Will be an Interesting match Peter Ebdon V Robin Hull, because Peter will be trying to get to the Cruciable for the 23rd Consecutive time since 1992 and Robin will be trying to get to the Cruciable for only the 2nd time in 12 years, he made his Debut in 2002 losing out to the 2006 World Champion Graeme Dott 10-6 in the last 32 and Graeme Dott went on to beat Peter Ebdon 18-14 in the 2006 Final and last year lost to Graeme 10-6 in the last 32.

I think Hull is better break builder but i don't think Ebdons playing style is good for Robin (is it good for anyone?), fingers crossed.

Lots of interesting games and interesting propositions for those in the top 16. With the new tournament styles i.e. open draws I have noticed that there won't be that many Chinese or Indian players making it to the final 32 as opposed to other tournaments. I've always liked the World Championship in seeing new players make it to the televised stages, so it will be interesting to see how some of these guys go.
Match of most interest for me is Wenbo v Gould (Gould has only dropped two frames). I've made my tips, but I would like to see Guodong, Hull, Carrington, Woollaston, R. Williams, M. Williams, Wilson and Poomjaeng make it through.

The thing is it looks like Jimmy White is also out of the 64 but not off the tour?
So until after the WSC and all is settled...Up the TSF! :snooker:

Dean, is it possible that Jimmy is still on the tour cos he's in the top 64 based on the "money list"? Not sure how it all works nowadays but I saw a spreadsheet at one time which gave the make-up of the top 128 and players can qualify for their card via various routes.

One year I'm going to go up for the qualifiers. Some of the matches happening on Tuesday and Wednesday are belters.
It's a bit close to the opening weekend though, so may struggle financially to go to and from Sheffield twice in a week. Also, quite early in my annual leave cycle.
I wouldn't mind watching several of the matches on Tuesday and Wednesday though.

Now here is an interesting bit of info on the World Snooker website. It clearly says that top 64 IS on the money list and NOT on ranking points. So that means Jimmy is IN for next season and Davis is OUT. Another player I was interested in was Scott Donaldson who was edged out of top 64 by Robbie Williams win over Advani. Well Scott also keeps his card cos he finished in top 8 of European Tour (ET) rankings. Well done Jimmy and Scott. Kick on next season!
