  • Would like to see Williams advance but he is missing far
too many easy shots and his position isnt the best.

    • I am more pissed than Williams than the man himself for scratching around like he does ... he should do everyone including himself a favor n try commentating instead ... He never recovered from that final he lost couple of years back n I am tired of watching n hoping

Yup although the rankings suggested Dott was a heavy favorite I was very fearful, Wilson simply crushed Lawler and Burden and looked in great form, he's proved it again. I guess it was a very unlucky draw for Graeme because of the rather poor standard of play on other tables. Wilson would've beat any other 17-32 player today.

Looks like the next round's on you! Did you get to meet the great man himself?

          • so my two most favourite players are not in The Crucible :-(
I still think those 3 close finals that Williams has lost 2-3 years ago had changed something .... and about Stevens, I hoped he will go far, cause he is usually having great results in WSC .... so I will cheer the most for Robertson now ....

So that means Jimmy is IN for next season and Davis is OUT. Another player I was interested in was Scott Donaldson who was edged out of top 64 by Robbie Williams win over Advani. Well Scott also keeps his card cos he finished in top 8 of European Tour (ET) rankings. Well done Jimmy and Scott. Kick on next season!

If Robbie Williams wins tomorrow and Kyren Wilson wins his first match at the cruicible, JW will fall off the tour. I think Kyren Wilson would be able to beat some of the top 16 players if he gets a lucky draw so it could be nervy times.

                  • I use to work with Robbie Williams' sister and the pair of them beat me in the eurosport fantasy snooker thing. That's as much of a claim to fame as I'm gonna get, but I've still never seen him play! Keep missing him or he keeps getting knocked out of tournaments, which is very selfish of him.

I like the little I've seen of Wilson, though - he seems fast and fluid, which should make him quite the draw if he can convert his promise into a regular TV player.

Typical an incident has happened that i'd liked to have heard commentary on, i wonder if someone can clarify, right, Ford goes in off on the yellow, the yellow lands on top of the black which is over the bottom left pocket as you look, Stevens puts him back in, so Ford puts the cueball roughly on the yellow spot and plays to go cushion first to catch the yellow thin and back to baulk, he misses completley, the cueball comes to rest near the baulk cushion, Stevens makes him play from there, is this strike one? I'm thinking not because the ball has not been replaced, Ford then misses the yellow again and again Steven makes him play from where it lands, so now if it is the 3 mss rule he has to hit it, now Ford tries to play a slow roll up and land on the yellow but pots the black, so he must have needed to hit it, surely the 3 miss rule only comes into play when the ball is replaced each time?

only applies if the balls have been replaced...

If the striker, in making a stroke, fails to first hit a ball on when there is a
clear path in a straight line from the cue-ball to any part of any ball that
is or could be on, the referee shall call FOUL AND A MISS, unless:
                      (i) any player needed penalty points before, or as a result of, the
stroke being played; (see (b) (ii))
(ii) before or after the stroke, the points available on the table are
equal to the points difference excluding the value of the re-spotted
                      black;
and the referee is satisfied that the miss was not intentional.
                      (c) After a miss has been called under paragraph (b) above when there
was a clear path in a straight line from the cue-ball to a ball that was
on or that could have been on, such that central, full-ball, contact was
available (in the case of Reds, this to be taken as a full diameter of any
Red that is not obstructed by a colour), then:
                      (i) a further failure to first hit a ball on in making a stroke from the
                      same position
shall be called as a FOUL AND A MISS regardless
                      of the difference in scores;
(ii) if asked to play again from the original position, the offender shall
be warned by the referee that a third failure will result in the frame
being awarded to his opponent; and
(iii) if asked to play again from a different position, the Foul and a Miss
                      situation starts again.

                      • It's sad seeing a player with Williams ability playing like that , the one plus is that it's snooker and not boxing otherwise he'd get seriously injured.
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                              I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

                              • Looking at the players I would be very surprised if a qualifier gets past the 1st round this year and definitely couldn't see one in the QFs.
