In fact, Doug almost certainly holds the record for the "fastest" maiden title. He'd only just been accepted as a Professional when he was invited to and won the '77 Masters.

If we're talking Worlds then I'd say Dennis. He turned pro in 1971/72, so 13/14 years.

    • Or Donaldson, first entered in 1933 and won it in 1947 after Joe had retired.

      • Nice split from MacManus, hope he wins this one, 3 - 0 wouldn't be good...

        The fast and the furious,
        The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Skip to 18:20 in the video and enjoy.
Epic time wasting. I still think Ebdons is the best in terms of how classy he played it.

                • Dominic should really make sure he takes this 6th frame...4-2 behind is ok, but 5-1 is not a good prospect against Hawkins.

                    4-2 it is

I am hoping for a decider.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Very nice...well done Dom. Hoping for a decider (as always) as well.

The McManus -Selby match is a strangely muted one. Still enjoyable to watch.

                      • The Hawk looking good
Selby V McManus neither player playing well this frame
                        :snooker: only 146 to go

                        • Weird to watch a Selby match where he is the one getting frustrated and trying to pick up the pace and open the balls up. McManus is giving him a taste of his own medicine!

                          • McManus is doing a Selby on Selby.

                            • Hawkins is getting so lucky in this match. How many bad safeties can he play and not leave the ball on?
