I must admit. I'm slowly starting to like Trump. He's much better to watch then Robbo at the moment and I'm loving the exhibition shots he throws in at the end of a frame. It reminds me of the great days of Jimmy White.

Well this is why I think refs should be given more power to use their own discretion, problem is they aren't at the moment as everything is done to a rule book which unfortunately some players will look to exploit and time limits is something that I think is needed in the modern game.

Pool had to bring in such a rule because of deliberate slow play from some players and once its there players know so and therefore they get on with the game. Its the same for both players, I think 1 minute is more than enough for any shot in all honesty.

Trump not on the ball yet today...he should probably focus more on practice instead of tweeting nonsense.

I think the bigger thing is, isn't it about time that referees were briefed about this gamesmanship and giving them more power to warn players about deliberate slow play.
In all the years of watching the game I've never seen a ref warn a player over slow play, of course players like Selby and Robertson are going to take advantage if they can get into the head of their opponent by doing so.

So the boys in the studio discussing Neil's shot times...maybe he's even 'doing a number' on Trump?

Interesting to hear such a comment that quickly in a session, especially coming from Ken and Steve.

Personally I had noticed it (as did JP earlier). Neil has been known to apply 'tactics' when 'needed'. Not so sure if it's the best thing to do for him instead of playing his natural game...

    Any thoughts?

He did a Selby on Selby to win the UK. It's feasible.
