it would be good for ROS to get his 6th by beating selby, his nemesis if you like.
it gives more credibility to it i guess, like his 2001 win against higgins, with all due respect to dott/carter/hawkins

I feel like I am stuck in the past a bit. I'm really not keen on some of the modern players; Selby and Robertson in particular. I find something about Selby very unlikable and dull. Robertson is a great player but I wish he would just get on with it, sometimes he farts around at looking at 3 different shots before playing the one he is obviously going to play all along. He would be so much more watchable if his shot time was 20-22 sec instead of 27-30 that it frequently is.

Of the players left in it I hope Trump can do well, but I can't see anyone stopping ROS right now..... he simply has too many weapons and all around game, even though I don't think he is actually playing as well as he can do right now.

Such a shame some of the matches have been very one sided and scrappy. I'm especially disappointed in McManus' and Murphy's performances. Wasley can be forgiven since he is relatively new to the big stage.

Selby's tactical play that annoyed ROS a few years ago is not working anymore. I truly believe that if they will meet in the final Ronnie will play his best snooker of the tournament. I have a feeling he really really wants to beat Selby every time they play each other.

Problem is, by the time they meet in the finals, ROS will be ready for him, just like in this years masters.
If they do meet in the finals, Selby knows the only way is all out attack, which he tried to do in masters.
Yup...agreed. I have always said Selby is one of a few players we need in the tournament to have at least one player who can stand up to ROS. Robbo is another one, as is Trump. With Fu an outside chance. So we still have 3 out of 4 in the race...after tonight's session if will be only 2 left.

And yes...Selby always seems somewhat deflated/tired at the business end of the WSC. He seems fitter at this point in time, compared to last year, so I have good hope he will be up for it.

Robbo or Trump...personally I hope Trump comes through.

Yeh he played badly but that really doesn't mean he was scared of him.

Agree with the first two names, but Trump is definitely scared of him.

I was just thinking that... It's amazing to say it could have been 13-3 the other way, but Murphy didn't just have half chances, he had genuine great chances in most of the frames. This has to be one of the most pathetic collapses from a "top" player in the history of the game.

I wonder if Murphy will acknowledge the pathetic way he approached and played this match, or will he just come out with the usual platitudes and praise for O'Sullivan...

Crap session in any case, but I have a feeling Trump-Robertson will develop into a good match this afternoon.

So is there only 1 match now in the arvo session??

I heard the commentators say they were coming back for Dale V Hawkins at 2:30pm but no mention of Neil V Trump.

He is a very clever bloke. O'Sullivan has mastered the mind games over opponents really well, he act's like he is playing badly that his tip isn't right yet has a tournament pot success of 91 pc, he acts like this to get in other's heads it get's them thinking if he think's he is playing badly what can he produce when on song....and that's what give's him the mental advantage.

This is a good point. If you can win it without getting out of 2nd gear then you do that, it's a 17 day tournament, so Stamina is an issue, you want to leave as much in reserve as possible for the closer matches.

Murphy was saying how wonderful ROS plays and how he is so much
better than everyone which just seems to have set himself up to lose.

Hopefully Robertson will come back and take his match.
