This is nonsense, really. Mark Selby is a damn good player. Sure his tactics/approach definitely aren't everyone's favorite (definitely not mine), but that's not his problem. You don't fluke your way to a WC, Masters x3 and a UK. Plus all the finals he's been in + ranking events won.

Some of the best sports teams/people of all time were damn boring to watch, but entertainment doesn't = talent.

Where did I say he was a bad player?, where did I say he fluked anything?, I stand by the fact he's not the most talented world champion, but he's still world champion, so it's the best of the best I'm comparing him with. He sits in just like Chelsea, to scared to do anything positive, as he knows he couldn't cope, but good luck to him, I don't think I'm saying anything that isn't blindingly obvious, I just don't think that style would have any youngster sitting on the edge of their seat amazed at the man on the telly, begging their dad to take them to play snooker tomorrow, and that's sad as that's how I like my sports stars.

I doubt that will happen any sooner he's won the Welsh Open and Masters beating Ding and Selby this year and just made the world final in which everybody expected to win after being 10-5 up.

Well Higgins had won 3 world titles in 5 years plus a UK + other tournaments. Not saying Ronnie will drop off tomorrow, but it's why I think those who thought he'd beat 7 were going OTT. Even if he won today, that's another 2 years of dominance at best. Williams also dropped off after 2011 (after returning to form). So it can be sudden.

Absolutely delighted for Selby. The only man who truly had the courage to respond to Hendry's call to "step up". And good to see Ronnie coming away from this with such credit as well. Five World titles is still an amazing achievement for him with all the ups and downs throughout his career.

I'm honored that you replied SIR.Yeah Ronnie and Robertson lost,someone like who worships this anti-talent of a snooker player?....no man,i pity you.

I don't worship any snooker player, just snooker in general.

As it happens I was rooting for Roberston in this year's WC, and was absolutely gutted when he lost. But what else can you do but accept it??
