The evening session just got more interesting. Ronnie is bound to have a weak session at some point. Maybe tonight the shackles will come off for Barry.

Maybe not in expected Ronnie fashion but you know he's just not threatened. I hadn't thought about this but I think he will be extra motivated to end this match tonight to have the day off. He'll think about this for sure, let's see if with a target on the horizon he comes up with the goods. He did the first time of asking against Perry. Less pressure now but still interesting to watch.

And let's not forget about Barry for a second. He still has time to make a great session. Let's be honest he's had poor misses in pretty much every game in this match (and some extraordinary bad luck in one of them). The tides can still turn.

Realistically I think 5-3 or 6-2 to Ronnie is the most likely scoreline this evening. That will either give him a day off or leave him only having to turn up for frame or two tomorrow.
The biggest risk to Ronnie is breezing through the quarters and semis so easily that he isn't in top gear for the start of the final. If either Selby or Robertson can get off to a good start against him they're good enough players to crank up the pressure on him. Their go slow tactics will actually work against them though because they'll give Ronnie time to play himself into the match. I definitely think that if Ronnie comes out misfiring a little they need to open up their game in order to take advantage.

Just to put the standard of play into context, I was looking at the 1985 World Championships today, I was just interested in looking up the frame scores in the final.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_Wo...r_Championship
There were fourteen century breaks in the entire tournament. No-one apart from Steve Davis made more than two. Ray Reardon reached the semi-finals and didn't make one all tournament. There were no centuries in the final. There were only two breaks of over 130 in the entire tournament.
We are spoiled today, we just don't realise it.
