Great session on both tables tonight, probably the best of the tournament so far. :smile:

It's remarkable that Allen is still hanging on, after all that Robertson's thrown at him. That clearance from a fluke must have hurt badly. I liked Robertson's opening red in one of the following frames as well, the one where he opened up the black spot and cleared the table. If his name was O'Sullivan he would be called a genius for that. :wink:

Fu still hanging on as well, even though Murphy was starting to pull away at one point. That clearance from Fu to get back to 8-6 was class. How many frames has he stolen on the black from behind in this match? Must be at least three, if not four. :smile: And that total clearance in the last frame wasn't too bad either. :wink:

Both matches could still go either way. It's a good thing they conclude at different times tomorrow, so I can enjoy them both in full. :smile:

it's pretty unfair Isn't it, why can't some people see that some players are just as genius as O'Sullivan

Those are really good matchups.

Dale will be playing Hawkins which is an interesting matchup.

Murphy or Fu will play O'Sullivan and either could beat him
if they are playing their A game.

Trump should he win will play either Robertson or Allen.

The quarter finals are potentially a hundred frames of snooker spread over just two days,if the qf's were spread over three days I think they might be able to make the qf's a single table set up,but to finish on the bank holiday monday they'd have to start the tournament on a thursday or friday instead of the usual saturday :-)

Your analysis may well be mathematically correct, but the old adage - why fix it if it aint broke? springs to mind...
The one table being reserved just for the semi's and final is a reward for getting that far in the tournament. Plus there's the added cost of extra day(s) for the venue. So I guess it will never happen.

Your previous comment about value for money somewhat misses the point of what I was saying.. The matches I saw on Thursday were of no less quality for being on two tables together, rather than one. In fact Robbo played the best of the tournament for that, albeit short, evening session. Likewise tonight, two decent quality matches, side by side...

This is not possible due to the number of matches. It's all scheduled for particular matches on specific days.. In any case all the players are well aware of the conditions before the tournaments starts. That's the beauty of the Crucible and it all adds to the atmosphere. Robertson was un-beatable the other night and there was Ronnie on the table next door.. Made no difference whatsoever to either match... I was there sat in the centre, hence saw it all...

Didn't see your edit mate, its gonna take an act of god you would think now to stop Robbo making a ton of tons, or Allen going on an unbelieveable run of scoring himself.

No worries mate. Btw I think the 100th might be a bit tricky..could be a mind-thing. Or maybe Neil just slots it in like it's nothing...we'll see
