Gotta say Ronnie just didnt Turn up today at all, i know Selby Bored him to death but Ronnie still had plenty of Chances and that Easy Pink Miss to take Lead i think got to Ronnie big style what a silly Mistake/Miss.

Now that I've calmed down a bit I wish to congratulate Selby. I'm not a fan of his style of play but I do admire he total commitment to the game and his ability on the table. Well done Selby. You deserved it.

Damn, I expected Ronnie's defeat after yesterday and having written my last post in advance... Still almost teared up during Ronnie's interview.

Still. Hey, it's a new world champion, and a great one at that.

Pleased for Selby as he is a nice guy and his promise to his dad is filled now.

From 10-5 he won 13-4, which is good going and Ronnie said it he was just beat all over the table and couldn't cope today.

Until the final I thought he had the game to beat Selby in grind mode but didn't make the most of yesterday I suppose.

Shame as would have loved to see him make 6 and 7 titles, still time though.

Disappointed, but he didn't play anywhere near last years standard, and Selby dug in with good tactical play. I doubt Selby will wit in again, so congrats to him, it's a massive achievement.

As crucial as this pink this afternoon midght have been, i think Ronnie lost the match yesterday, when he couldnt get a bigger lead. Should have been at least 11-6 really. But t hat shows, that Ronnie just didnt play his best and i think that applies to the entire tournament.

Luck played some part as well, i think you cant argue that he overall had the better run of the balls.

I know the majority of support was for O'Sullivan, but the subdued applause and celebration for Selby's win was more than a little disappointing.
