Ouch...that was a stunner from Mark! What a shame he couldn't end the session at 4 all. 5-3 is certainly not bad at all though, I think about right for the session.

I don't know. With a HB of just 37 I think he is lucky to have more than a frame on the board. Its only because Ronnie doesn't really like his style of play that he's let it get to him and Selby has got off the hook a few times with bad misses only to leave Ronnie little to go for. Ronnie needs to punish him tonight if he plays like that again in the next session, needs to be more focussed in the balls and cut out the silly loose safety shots and one or two positional shots he has let slip.
Well, well, well what a last frame of the session..... Massive chance to level the session missed there!!
Still think Selby will be happy at 5-3 considering how he has played!!
Nah, he'll be kicking himself he didn't get 4-4, as that would have done bad psychological damage for a session Ronnie started so well in and which Selby didn't score a break over 38.
A fair scoreline for the session, but Mark got down way too fast on that black. He missed a great chance to go 4-4 and that would have annoyed Ronnie a lot!
That was pretty poor stuff, to be honest, kind of like the start of Ebdon-Dott in 2006.
I guess both players will be pretty annoyed. O'Sullivan should have pushed on from 3-0 really, he had good chances to get to at least 5-0, and he would have done most of the damage already. Selby could have got to 4-4, but I'm sure he would have taken 5-3 earlier in the session, considering how awful he was. Just early nerves from both players hopefully, so looking forward to a better session tonight.
First goal achieved by Selby, don't lose it in the first sessions next sesh stay in touch no more than three behind, then let us see what happens. It just feels to me like Ronnie will wake up have a four frame burst get five or six ahead then it's done.
