Because he got so many maximum breaks of course....................
.......................in practice
That's annoying as well.
"Mr. Maximum....... when it doesn't count and isn't added to the official maximum list.... Wille Thorne."
He's my least favourite commentator at the moment. But it goes in cycles, it used to be Virgo. Now I can almost bear him, despite the copious amount of ****e he talks. Dennis Taylor is a good laugh, but not a great commentator either.

How has the BBC commentary been? I had a bit on the website last night, and Steve sounded a bit subdued. Especially when he was asked to comment on a win he'd got over Michael Holt, who was currently playing. A bit unprofessional.
I ended up going in the other room and putting Eurosport on.
The only one who is bugging me is Virgo, trying to make the crowd laugh all the time, and his ridiculous "Where's the cue ball going?" almost every frame. Steve Davis' voice isn't a good fit for commentating in my opinion, better as an analyst in the studio. Other than that, I find the others ok and have enjoyed Stephen Hendry too. I would prefer to have no commentary though but that isn't an option, other than muting it altogether.
Willie Thorne was getting on my tits at the Welsh Open, though.
Almost every shot played was wrong according to him. "That's not how I'd have played it, oh it came off well. That's lucky, because as I said, I'd have played it differently...."
It's not like Willie Thorne had a massive long list of ranking tournament wins, what makes his opinion so accurate all the time?
I'll second that - it must be very disconcerting for a player if the crowd giggles as he's preparing for a shot ... so please, BBC commentators, if you insist on cracking jokes, please tell them between frames ...

They do talk over the shots sometimes too much but that last frame was a joke.
Walden just couldn't pot a ball for half of it, my 9 year old was watching and couldn't believe some of the misses.
When he missed a yellow to the top pocket and a guy at the front buried his head in his hands brought my son out in a fit of laughter but Walden's face was a picture, bet he was a bit pleased to not have to play a couple more frames.
Even the yellow that was stuck up I half thought he might miss, after that though pockets seemed to grow nice and large for him.
Same it didn't get to 9-9 but glad it ended when it did to be honest.

...that would be good, as hopefully we will be with Hazel and wont hear the jokes
I'm getting absolutely sick to death of Virgo, Parrot, Doherty, and Taylor treating the crucible as their own little comedy circuit. Drop the ego boys and adopt a little professionalism for pitty's sake. You of all people should realise how serious this is. And they go on and on about what a distraction mobile phones are.
