And that Selby what a ****ty way to win, this is a disgrace but oh well no one will remember this idiot.I was hoping robertson will be in the final, robertson(i'm his fan) deserves the title bit this guy doesn't.Just a petty stupid idiot.
And no congrats to selby, congrats to ronnie for playing like a gentleman, not like an idiot, just put the cue balls against the reds."selby STYLE"
    what a disgrace.

    • Congratulations to Selby - it wasn't always that attractive but he played superb matchplay snooker and he knocked in some decent breaks towards the end. I still don't find Selby excites me, but I also still don't begrudge him - after he lost to Higgins I felt certain he'd be world champion, then it looked like he'd missed the boat.

Hopefully Ronnie keeps playing though and has other chances to set some records.

      • Disappointing to see some of the lack of respect for what is an incredible achievement. Simply don't agree with him being called dull either.

I think having dominated the season he probably came to Sheffield a little tired and wouldn't have gone far even if he'd won first round.

Unlike Selby who's had a poor season really, no big titles but two heavy losses in UK and Masters final. His motivation was higher than anyone else and probably was his focus all the way through. Robbo was his toughest opponent in the end and to be honest it was the only top quality snooker in the whole event in that last session.

Hopefully next year we'll see a lot of top players in form because this year the standard was well below what we've come to expect.

            • Match play snooker is hard graft but scoring to win frames like Higgins, Selby wins by only relying in safeties & 20 breaks..... Ronnie will consider his future I think cos losing to a club player is bad beyond belief

I'm honored that you replied SIR.Yeah Ronnie and Robertson lost, someone like who worships this anti-talent of a snooker player?....no man,i pity you.

I am refreshing BBC Sport web page every five seconds in hope that they will upload a picture of Selby with a trophy

                        • Very entertaining match, but the quality of play was really surprisingly low. Lots of exciting safety battles, great to watch how well Selby turns those situations to his advantage. The clearance in the end was awesome.

                          Well done Mark!

Sad to see what kind of direction these topics take when Ronnie isn't winning.

                          • I think i miss the old Ronnie where he would just take on any shot, play attacking safety be a bit unpredictable and concede frames when you needed like 2 snookers lol though his attitude has improved alot. This match he looked to play a little tight and look lack in the safety exchanges with Selby when he is a way much better safety player than selby.Well done to Selby though,Ronnie beat himself can't believe he only won 4/17 frames when he was 10-5 up and Selby looking dejected.

                              • Sometimes I think that some of Ronnie's fans are actually just footy fans who've never watched anyone apart from Ronnie play snooker.
