Thanks Cyber...I really am a very happy bunny indeed atm Sorry about your man not winning today, but we all know he will win some more world titles for certain.
I think having dominated the season he probably came to Sheffield a little tired and wouldn't have gone far even if he'd won first round.
Unlike Selby who's had a poor season really, no big titles but two heavy losses in UK and Masters final. His motivation was higher than anyone else and probably was his focus all the way through. Robbo was his toughest opponent in the end and to be honest it was the only top quality snooker in the whole event in that last session.
Hopefully next year we'll see a lot of top players in form because this year the standard was well below what we've come to expect.
That comment is spot on!!
I'll try to express how I feel in the shortest way possible;
I wanted Ronnie to win but he was not up for it this time. He said in the end that he tried his best but that was just him being a gentleman and trying best to give a fair interview and say the right words. He was being too careless with his safeties and giving Mark way too many chances.
I think you can't blame Ronnie for not doing so after all he's achieved in his unbelievable career, and as 'cueman' said, after the amazing season he's had.
As a fan it was not easy to watch but that's the price you pay for cheering someone or something you can't control.
Congrats to Mark.
Last remark, people who think that Ronnie won't come back next season must forget that snooker is what this guy is doing for his living… and by the way he just earned 125000 pounds for a 17 days of work.
Will he become world champion again? Maybe, and maybe not but that won't be what will change what Ronnie already is.
It's like Chelsea winning the champions league, fantastic for the people who like them, awful as a fan of the game in general, boring ,boring, bored, bored , boring, but well done all the same. I like my sporting people, to inspire, create,, do things you could never imagine, while very effective, Mark Selby does none of these for me, unlike some I don't hate him or wish him ill , he's just not my cup of tea, but I do appreciate he squeezes every last ounce out of what talent he has and that is very commendable, but I honestly think he's in the top five least talented champions in the last thirty years, but probably one of if not the most determined.
He's probably got the best fighting qualities in the game and will bring hope to a lot of snooker players who might not have the raw talent of Ronnie but they will know if you are 100% resolute you can still achieve a lot in this sport.
