Can't disagree. What I am saying is that at 3/1 there is possible value. The other outsiders are fairly short prices, I find it difficult to bet Holt or Dale and although Alan is also 3/1, his record against John isn't great and bar that match in Aberdeen it's a long time since he beat John as far as I can remember.

ding was playing terrible wasley should have been 6-0 or 5-1 up after first 6 frames. it was only a matter of time before ding started to play better. must be crucible nerves as he won 4 matches to get this far so he must be able to play better than he was. bet milkins is kicking himself though.

Any link to Maguire-Day? All streams lead to Murphy-Cope on frombar.

Missed this. I agree. I bet Carter so I was watching closely and one frame last night Xiao has stuck in a long red (which he missed) followed by a tricky black off the spot (which he missed) and won the frame off it. I'd expect possibly some scoring records and DEFINATELY some upsets in the first round.

Xiao can pot a ball and plays nice attacking snooker, shame he missed the reds when trying to break them up near the end.

I look forward to seeing more of him next season, was my good outside bet for round one but never mind.

BBC did announce they were changing tables but it is a joke, what if your recording it not watching live. And then you change and they show a stupid interview rather than the break and first few shots.

They stopped doing the second red button streams years ago and since then it has been a pain in the arse to try and watch both on a tv screen, bit easier now with both streams online and they work on android tablets so you can view and stream them to your tv if you have the setup.

Some nice snooker to come tonight, I fancy Day to finish Maguire off but think Murphy will turn his match around but it could go close.
I thought Carter did well, he had the worst run I have seen for a long time until the last two frames. Just shows, it's better to get a bit of run at the end. He could easily have won 10-5.

If McGuire motors it's far from over but I agree, I think Murphy will come through.

No favourite is a stick on from what I've seen of the pockets or is that my imagination?

Wasley was playing well, until he got absolutely frozen out in the last 3 frames

Well played to Carter, he finished the match pretty strongly there. It could be high-quality stuff against Selby in the 2nd round.

As for Xiao, I guess he can count himself unlucky to have drawn Carter, considering how the likes of Bingham, Perry, Maguire have played... But he had a strong season, and I'm sure he will feature heavily in some events next season as well.

I don't know why with all the technology these days why can't we have choice of tables on the red button? We used to be able to? I dont want to watch on Eurosport because i don't like the commentators or adverts.

WTF are the beeb playing at. Showing a short interview thing with Carter rather then showing the actual match. What the hell.

Anyone else just found the red button has just switched from Carter to Ding all by itself?
