Quite agree with this. With the snooker calendar as full as it is now the players literally are playing on empty by the time they arrive at Sheffield. I think I'd still keep with long matches but make them best of 19's until the semi, then the semi best of 25 and a best of 31 frame final. Its the multi 3 frame matches after the first round that do the damage. Having a best of 33 semi is overkill by that stage and takes way too much out of the players.

Snooker should not be about stamina, its never been a game about fitness.

I don't mind tactical aspects of the game one bit, but I can't stand it when a player deliberately keeps the table tight, instead of looking for openings. So yeah, Selby manages to lull me into sleep.

Ronnie is playing shockingly bad, Selby can essentially win this match in this session.

Selby is very boring. Come on Ronnie ffs, stop messing about. Where is his form from the Welsh Open.

I've resigned myself now. I can't see any way O'Sullivan can win.

Each to everyone's style but Selby is that type of player that will drag out a frame as long as possible until someone makes a mistake he is really boring to watch.

And he needs to improve his safety play cause its shocking
Again much easier said than done. Selby is not opening up the reds at all off his safety shot, just making sure the white is on the baulk cushion everytime. Ronnie wants to open the balls naturally as its not his style of game to play negatively and when he does he is facing a much more difficult shot in doing so.

For me the way to combat Selby's game is to go all out attack, as Hendry said, better to lose going for a pot than to lose playing a poor safety.

That missed black yesterday + the potted green really did change the match.
