    Well not really because there is every chance the red jaws in the pocket and leaves you opponent an easy starter. If you are going to commit to a plant ensure you get on a colour, otherwise you may just as well play a safety instead.

    Earlier on maybe. Today he's been fine. In fact he was offensive in the first frame. Went into the pack in the first frame and got nothing and the same just happened in this one.

    But there was definitely a period where Selby dragged him down into a scrappy match.

    I am not watching, stuck at work, but from you've just said, it makes perfect sense to play the cue ball safe if the plant was not certain?

    This is exactly what I think, if he doesn't start playing like his usual self Selby could possibly take over the lead, and from there it will only get worst because Ronnie will "wanna go home"
