I'm a huge Ding fan and as I've already said gutted to see him out, but can you imagine the reaction from a certain member here if that situation had been Selby?
Therefore, he correctly followed the rulebook and shifted the balls back to their original position.
As ever, a good performance from Brendan.

Kudos to Wasley though who played so well.
We already can pencil a 6th title for Ronnie....
Actually, I have a feeling that a qualifier like Kyren Wilson or Wasley have a better chance of beating Ronnie because they don't have any history with him so they're not mentally scarred.

Flukes are a part of the game, and a spectacular one at that. Both players had some luck, as well as a few massive blunders. In any case, Wasley did not win "because of a fluke"; he won because he clawed his way to 9-9 with great tactical play, and found himself in a position to win the deciding frame.
On balance, I'm happy with the result because upsets and underdog successes please me, and Wasley's composure today impressed me. Felt sorry for Ding, of course, but as the established player with grand aspirations the onus was on him not to make so many mistakes.
He may never become world champion at this rate. Weird that he seems to be jinxed in his adoptive hometown.

If a player tries to pot a ball in the corner pocket, misses and the red then cannons off three other reds before dropping in the centre bag; that's not luck. It just so happens that the red hit the other reds in such a way that it found its way into the centre pocket. It's nothing more than a series of events that resulted in something we decide to call luck.Last edited by Billy; 21 April 2014, 11:33 PM."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"
