  • I called it yesterday, that frame that Perry managed to lose to go 10-6 overnight was probably the turning point in the end. Fair play to Ronnie though, the best session he has produced in his career possibly, certainly under pressure anyway. Fantastic match and drama, just hope the rest of the last 16 matches can live up to that, probably asking too much though!

I think he honestly thought. Okay. He's had his fun now. Time to kill of the match.
Yeah. ROS found his form just at the most crucial of times. Hats of to him for hanging on when he wasn't firing on all. Last few frames he was back to his old self...well done to him.

Boring as he is, I feel sorry for him. Not sure what more he could do though.
Big Ronnie fan but my heart goes out to Gentleman Joe. Well fought and made very few mistakez throughout the game, just to catch a sudden blast of brilliance in the face right before the finishing line. I have rarely seen such a strong (and fast!) finish to a game, by any player, at such a high stake situation. Glad I got to watch it, and well played Joe.

        • I'm really impressed by Ronnie's mindset the last couple of seasons though. Imagine a match like this 3 or 4 years ago, no way he would have won back then.

Murphy vs. Fu will be very interesting now. I think that Fu could get pretty close to beating Ronnie on a good day, not so sure about Shaun...

          • Perry played exceptional and deserved the win imo.

It also shows that ROS in definitely beatable.

Doherty is in lots of trouble.

Looking forward to some good matchups today.

            • Come on Ken...get the final 4 frames of this session and you're back in the match...and we can look forward to a great last session tonight.

              • Thanks Ronnie ... WC would have been over me if you had lost today. Its hard to watch anyone else play (unless its Selby off course) after such a level of performance

                • Joe played exceptionally well for most of the match but unfortunately he missed some crucial moments. With a bit of luck/bottle he should have beaten Ronnie.

really?? doesn't it show that you can play great for 2 sessions but Ronnie will just outclass you in the 3rd?

How can you even enjoy watching snooker if you only have one player to watch...it boggles the mind You're missing out on sooo much more!

                      • Ronnie did just enough in the end although Joe was in first in almost all the frames today and his form really dropped compared to the first two sessions and let Ronnie off the hook.

After more than a decade of wasted talent I feel that Ronnie must pay back to his fans who have been frustrated n tortured along him over the years. So when he does not do it I lose interest in watching snooker . While he is in it I am gonna watch every match but I must be honest I am not really enjoying Doherty vs. McManus .. its a mismatch at best n by the way McManus is a threat to anyone just because he is probably the second best tactician after Selby ... and no Higgins is nowhere in the best tacticians list anymore

                          • Did we watch the same session apart from one frame ronnie was first in every frame. Should have all the frames today if hadnt make the silly.mistakes .

                            • Well, what can you say. That was an excellent match and a valiant effort from Joe, but he just fell short at the end. Can't say ROS wasn't put under any pressure in that one, and fair dues he came up with the goods when it most mattered without really getting into 3rd gear. Looks like it's going to take something very special to stop him again this year.
