Just reds and blacks so far....^^
He's gonna miss the final black for sure.
edit: aww, just 11 reds and blacks, pity.
I really enjoy seeing Ken playing the big stage again, hopefully he's able to win some more frames tonight...
Anyway Selby will have the easiest of all quarters for sure :ambivalence:Last edited by neuronic; 26 April 2014, 12:21 PM."That pocket moved!"

That was an excellent session of snooker. I had a feeling yesterday's final frame would come back to haunt Perry, 9-7 just wasn't as solid a lead as 10-6 would have been. He gave it his all though and came closer to winning than I expected, so every credit.
I think the 22nd frame was the crucial one in the end, where O'Sullivan was quite lucky not to go 12-10 down. Perry first fouled when he was splitting the cluster, anything but the white going in would have left him on a sitter. O'Sullivan then left nothing when he missed the long pot by a mile, and Perry came very close to potting that red to the yellow pocket, with everything on. But O'Sullivan was able to make the clearance and finish off with two centuries. Great stuff under pressure.
He will need more of the same though, especially if he plays Fu in the next round, because Fu is playing even better than Perry.

Right, Trump vs Day starts this afternoon...
Hard to call really. Trump is the bigger name on paper, a proven winner and ranked much higher than his opponent, and I suspect he will be happy to avoid Stephen Maguire in this round. He didn't play at all well in the 1st round though, and the worrying thing is that he hasn't really acknowledged it or taken responsibility for it, but rather blamed Tom Ford for how the match went. He has also found an excuse for his loss to Carter in 2012, and concluded that only Higgins and O'Sullivan have beaten him fair and square at the Crucible, so I think he has deluded himself into thinking that he is untouchable against the lower-ranked players.
Day, on the other hand, played fairly well in the 1st round, and could have won comfortably, had Maguire not played close to perfect snooker from 9-6 down. He's had runs to the quarter-finals of the International Championship and the semi-finals of the German Masters this season, so this has already been his best season since dropping out of the top8. He has the potting and scoring game to match Trump, especially considering the current form of both players. Trump plays the better safety, but I'm not sure he has the presence of mind to see and exploit that strength... I think this will be the first major match between the two players. Day to win 13-10.
Another match that starts today is Dale vs Wasley, in the evening.
Another one that's tough to call... Obviously Dale has all the experience, having played at the Crucible regularly throughout his career, while Wasley is playing in his second-ever match here, and his first over three sessions. They both played pretty well to win their 1st round matches, but of course they are no longer the underdogs now, and a quarter-final appearance would be a big prize for either of them. Wasley in particular doesn't have the luxury of being expected to lose anymore. I have a feeling this could go quite nervy and scrappy, and I'll go for Dale to win 13-9.
Looking forward to the final session of Hawkins vs Walden as well. It was nice to see some high scoring from Walden yesterday, but will the nerves get to him towards the end again? He was ahead in their semi-final last year as well, but Hawkins managed to turn it around. This has 13-12 written all over it.
