  • Ah, the army of armchair psychologists have arrived! Keep the diagnosis coming, it's hilarious to read!

    • Only one word to sum it all up...pathetic! But I won't have to tell Shaun this...he'll know himself. He will be incredibly dissapointed..it will be interesting to hear his comments after the match. Still can't believe how bad his performance was today (and yesterday).

      Very dissapointing morning session...blah

Need my daily-snooker fix...hopefully the afternoon sessions will prove incredible!

      • This is the only match I've seen him act like this cueman, in the Perry match he was getting unlucky nudges and splits but never once moaned about it, just played the safety.

in this game he was desperate to have an evening off so was focused on that from what I could see

No, prior to working with him, he would have let it affect his next shot, i.e. recklessness. Not so anymore. For all you know, Peters might have told him to express his disappointment, then to focus on something in the arena (as Ronnie has himself mentioned) to get it out of his system for the next shot.

          • Murphy was saying how wonderful ROS plays and how he is so much
better than everyone which just seems to have set himself up to lose.

Hopefully Robertson will come back and take his match.

This is a good point. If you can win it without getting out of 2nd gear then you do that, it's a 17 day tournament, so Stamina is an issue, you want to leave as much in reserve as possible for the closer matches.

Haha! Was just thinking the exact same thing! Watch out Mr Peters, there's a few on here who'd give you a run for your money :-)

                • He is a very clever bloke. O'Sullivan has mastered the mind games over opponents really well, he act's like he is playing badly that his tip isn't right yet has a tournament pot success of 91 pc, he acts like this to get in other's heads it get's them thinking if he think's he is playing badly what can he produce when on song....and that's what give's him the mental advantage.

Neither Robertson, Selby or Trump are 'scared' of playing Ronnie.

                    • So is there only 1 match now in the arvo session??

I heard the commentators say they were coming back for Dale V Hawkins at 2:30pm but no mention of Neil V Trump.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???

I was just thinking that... It's amazing to say it could have been 13-3 the other way, but Murphy didn't just have half chances, he had genuine great chances in most of the frames. This has to be one of the most pathetic collapses from a "top" player in the history of the game.

I wonder if Murphy will acknowledge the pathetic way he approached and played this match, or will he just come out with the usual platitudes and praise for O'Sullivan...

Crap session in any case, but I have a feeling Trump-Robertson will develop into a good match this afternoon.

Agree with the first two names, but Trump is definitely scared of him.

You sure? Did u watch the 2013 semi final? All Trump wanted was to end the match ASAP

selby is the only player left in the draw that is capabale of standing up to ROS
He has proven this in the past
Problem is, by the time they meet in the finals, ROS will be ready for him, just like in this years masters.
If they do meet in the finals, Selby knows the only way is all out attack, which he tried to do in masters.

Yeh he played badly but that really doesn't mean he was scared of him.
