Ronnie will win #5 because no one alive can beat him in the Crucible in a best of 33 or 35. He would have to have a total mental collapse to not win a match of that length.

On a totally different note, unless Steven has found some way to turn back time in his game, he should stay retired.

So the boys in the studio discussing Neil's shot times...maybe he's even 'doing a number' on Trump?

Interesting to hear such a comment that quickly in a session, especially coming from Ken and Steve.

Personally I had noticed it (as did JP earlier). Neil has been known to apply 'tactics' when 'needed'. Not so sure if it's the best thing to do for him instead of playing his natural game...

Any thoughts?

I think so, I felt the same and lets face it he has previous of doing this.

I think the bigger thing is, isn't it about time that referees were briefed about this gamesmanship and giving them more power to warn players about deliberate slow play.
In all the years of watching the game I've never seen a ref warn a player over slow play, of course players like Selby and Robertson are going to take advantage if they can get into the head of their opponent by doing so.

But the problem is, there isn't a time specified to make the shot, is there? And who's to say what's too long and what isn't? Unless it's in the rules, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do...

I think he's just trying to be ultra cautious. Robbo does suffer occasionally from shot indecision. He can sometimes get caught up in the thought process and can take minutes to work out what shot he should be on. It's a bit weird really. It's like he gets stuck.

I think he generally plays worse that way. I much prefer to see him play to his natural rhythm.
