  • This has now become a scrap and suits Selby. I'd be surprised if Ronnie comes out of this session in front now. He has lost the momentum he had at the start and allowed Selby back into the match. Tonight is probably going to be Selby's best chance to build up a lead because Ronnie won't be happy with how this match has turned and I doubt his mindset will be good.

she is paid to ask the simple questions that the uninitiated audience may ask and also to let the studio pundits appear knowledgeable, and I think she is very good at that
      Up the TSF! :snooker:

Agreed, I probably won't watch a lot of this final as Selby's style of play is really frustrating to watch for me personally.

              • Selby has dominated this frame. His scoring punch still looks off, but he's hanging around somehow.
                All the way Mark J!!

                • I've said all tournament I doubt Ronnie will win the title this year and its this kind of slip in concentration that I've felt would cost him against an in form player. Perry should have knocked him out and he was fortunate to play 2 out of form players to make his way into the final.

Selby won't throw these chances away, I actually make him slight favourite based on what I've seen so far. Selby winning all the tactical frames and Ronnie isn't scoring well enough to dominate.

                  • This is why Selby will win the match. I actually think ROS has out played Selby for most of this session and yet we could go in at 4-4. In the Masters, ROS won 3 scrappy frames in the first session to go 7-1 up. Here, they've all gone to Selby pretty much.

Snooker isn't a complicated game, the vast majority know what they're watching and I bet most of the 'once a year' crowd find her boring too.

To be fair, since the fourth frame, he hasn't outplayed Selby and lost the frames in which he didn't play well at all.

                          • Selby imo is somewhere around the best 5 players who've ever played snooker so I don't think anyone should be overly surprised if Ronnie loses, not saying he will actually lose though.

                            • Selby has put Ronnie to sleep.

Or should we say...he's been 'tortured'.

Don't think I'd have him that high, maybe just squeezing inside the top 10 but never top 5. Williams, Higgins, Hendry, Davis, Ronnie for me the best 5 of all time. You would have to look at others like Robertson before naming Selby because until he wins a WC its hard to class anyone that good because you simply have to have a world title on your CV to be classed a real great of the game.
