I was just thinking the same. I used to quite like Carter and not like Selby. Now I feel the opposite. Ali does moan a lot about his own bad rubs and his opponents lucky snookers but he never acknowledges when it goes the other way.
I do like his fighting qualities though. He's come a long way in recent years because of that.

Selby certainly seems to be in fine form but so far he's just having trouble finishing them off for whatever reason, in both matches so far.

The 6-0 against Walden in The Masters and the Welsh final against Ding are two of the greatest peformances i've seen from Ronnie, only my opinion though.

LOL. Than what are you talking about. It's the best performance during a whole tournament from a snooker player for years. He was playing pretty close to perfect snooker in sessions.

In my opinion, Ronnie hasn't been playing his best for a long while but he doesn't really need to play his best to win tournaments.

For me I called it last night to my mate, I could tell from the first frame that Ronnie was gonna lose this. Obviously its still not over but parts of his game have been off since his first round match, his long potting and safety is not up to the same standards he has produced for the last few seasons and I wonder whether this is the start of his decline due to age. Reminds me a lot of how John Higgins is playing this last few years, well off from their normal standard and they don't know how to adapt their game when certain parts are not as strong as they used to be.

Same with Higgins. I feel he had been on a slow decline in the past 5 years and it finally caught him a few seasons ago.

Shame to see such a poor turn out for Doherty Vs McManus - just another indicator that the game is fast becoming a young man's sport. Here we have two 90s boys battling it out in a match which, for me at least, has a lovely nostalgic air about it, and no one's interested in watching

Just saw a quick replay and saw what you mean, definitely a shame. I would have loved to watch those guys play, any crucible match for that matter.

It's only my opinion and I am a ronnie fan. Styles make fights and peak Higgins style gives ronnie a lot of problems. Federer is probably greatest player ever but his record against nadal is awful.

Agreed, but the hypothetical was peak Higgins versus peak RoS. If RoS is having problems, then by definition it isn't peak RoS.
