      • So happy for Mark Selby!

There is nobody who deserved a World Championship more than he. And while he was pretty lame in the first two sessions he was, well maybe not brilliant, cause therefore his breakbuilding was not good enough, but at least great for most of today.

Don't think it would be for good, but might be hard for him to accept he was in the wrong and come back ehh, altho i hope he does really

I don't like to see people getting banned, certainly not for good, he was a bit mental , but there is room for all, I would have loved to have had him on for that final, especially when Ronnie was in front, and then him having a meltdown as Selby came back ,it would have been hilarious .
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

              • Who's there to say Ronnie can't tie up Stephen Hendry's 7 world titles,he doesn't look like he is declining he played pretty poor the final few sessions but i've seen him do worse at world championships.Ronnie is an exception and when he is on the boil he is literally unstoppable.Who know's that loss could motivate him even more and next year come back even stronger and win a 6th world title.

                • So the next tournament is going to be the Asian Tour 1 in June from the 17th to the 21st. That's a long time without some snooker to watch

                  • Well done Selbs. I lost count of the amount of times that he ran out of position or potted a cracking long red only to not get on a colour. Luck was really against him. Had it not been for that he would have scored heavily and people wouldn't be saying he played tactically.

Fair play Ronnie too. Good Final.

Perhaps he disappeared up his own ass, his constant Selby bashing was tedious.

                      • So to all those who said that O'Sullivan was unbeatable..
I said that Robertson or Ding could have given him a real
battle and could beat him if they played well.

So much for anyone being unbeatable yes?

                        • If you look at Selby's record for BBC big three tournaments prior to him winning the Worlds, it's better than Robertson, Ding and Murphy. He's not that a bad player really. He's not the most talented, entertaining player to watch but he does have the fight, determination and bottle. The second session was the game changer, ended up 10-7 to Ronnie, with Selby playing his B game.

Congratulations to Mark, a worthy champion.

                          • And Ronnie playing his c game ^^

It was obviously a disadvantage having a day off as he couldn't take advantage in the first session.

And in regards to Selby, it's called snooker not potter, and that is indeed how he won the match.

                            • Congrats to Selby, he deserved it after the last 2 sessions he played, I don't understand the hate towards him though, he can only play with what he's given/his strengths are and that's safety/tactical ability + having a mental fortress, and this is coming from a Ronnie fan. He can't be like Ronnie and go full steam ahead otherwise he would have been finished ages ago. Smart play at the end.

Also Ronnie has had a good run also, 3 WC finals and won 2 of them in a row, still has it even with his age. Talent doesn't wash away.

Good to see a new champion though, it makes it more sweeter for when Ronnie wins it next year

No-one is unbeatable, but you must admit that it didn't look good for Selby when he was 8-3 down and hadn't made a 40 break. He did incredibly well to comeback from that, but you have to say that O' Sullivan was well short of his best.

I'm happy for Selby because this could be his only chance to win a world title, and I'm sure Ronnie will come back strong next season. I'm still surprised that he didn't win this match because he missed his chances when they came, which is very rare.
