shame it isn't on the TV table ... I'm a bit of a fan of Rod and James did himself proud beating Higgins earlier ...

Hats off to the guy. Knocks his pan in, plenty of young players should be watching him to see how to win matches. Anyone can win when they are banging in big breaks but if you're going to make it, you've git to win the horrible ones.

I agree with you that I don't think the ref can't volunteer the information but my question is, can a player ask the referee whether a full ball contact is available before he/she chooses their first or second shot? I'm not 100% sure but I would think that is OK and the referee can do any tests he/she wants and reply ...
I also liked how they handled the situation, Selby with the glasses
Asking the referee questions is covered by the rules but (to me) is not in-depth enough, i.e. if not specifically covered then the referee can not provide an answer. Nothing stops the player asking any question by the way

Yes amazing stuff, highest quality in a long long time this. 95% pot success trump, 94% Maguire. 2 tons from Trump, 1 from Maguire and he had a 96 and got a kick on the black which lost him position, could easily be 2 tons apiece.

              Trump v Maguire, 4 frames, 3 centuries and a 96 so far, 2 - 2...

84 from Trump 3-2. Should have been another ton! Both players smiling at each other. Should have been the final really, neither player deserves to go out in the last 16.

Trump takes his eyes off his chevrons, and breaks down on 84. Poor stuff .

To be fair he sights down the side grain, less distracting I suppose.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                        I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

                        • Has Liang Wenbo lost the match due to the three strikes and you're out rule? One moment he was 57-4 up, the next he lost the frame and match...

                          • Disappointed in Robertson loss. He hasnt looked sharp.

Trump seems to be playing very well and there is lots
                            of tough matches coming up.
