Yeah I'd have to agree with that. Mark just seems the more settled of the two.

              • Great morning of snooker, the first really great semi-final of the season.

Mark Allen did the same to Selby on the way to his first World Open title, coming back from 5-2 down in similar style. It was looking like Selby would play a strong decider, as usual, but he just couldn't get that one key ball. Perhaps he should have gone for that red with the spider, after Allen missed the long pot...

I was kind of hoping for a Selby-Ding final, because buying both of them for the fantasy game ahead of this tournament would have proved a genius move, but Allen in the final should guarantee a good match in any case. Could be Allen against Bingham for a ranking title, with all the history between them...

I suppose Ding is the favourite in the other semi, but he was the favourite in the 2013 Welsh Open as well, and that finished 6-5 to Bingham.

I know that everyone blames eurosport for the abysmal coverage, but surely world snookers contract for the event would have stipulated the coverage req, or is it just a case of anything is better than nothing

                    • the way I see it, is that WS has television rights in various countries, this one obviously China, and they have priority for the coverage (like BBC for the few that they cover).
                      Eurosport is a secondary contract.
WS does not "tell" any broadcaster when where they actually broadcast but I believe in the contracts they may have a minimum number of hours - across the event.
Yep it is annoying when we get to the semi and final of an event and suddenly cycling/curling/badminton/horses/tiddlywinks take precedence over snooker
I just wonder what the viewing figures for these other sports on Eurosport are?
As has been published (Snooker Scene, etc.) we now that snooker has millions of viewers.
                      Of course I am biased

biased never! but surely for those other events to take precidence there must be a reason, pressure must come from somewhere? advertisers/sponsors/ and its obvious other sports have more leverage

                            • Just finished the Mark vs Mark match. Very enjoyable. Kinda felt sorry for Selby towards the end there. He was one ball away from winning the match. A relatively simple pink into the middle bag but with tons of pressure.

Now, next year if she wants to go away I will have to arrange for it to be when an event is on all week
