  • Allen 5-4 with Walden having a good chance
to even it up. It's early morning here so I
    have just started watching it.
    Hard to pick a winner.

    • Ok, I have to finish the match after I come back home .... I still think Walden will prevail .... must be strong and not check the score before I return. Hope for good finish, as it has been typical final (both players are performing worse than they did in previous matches).

      • Yeah looks like this could be a close and tense final couple of frames...

        Edit : scratch that...Walden 9-7 up.

I'm afraid Eurosport Int. will be leaving the snooker at 15:30 though (football and marathon...maybe ROS entered?)

        • Walden wins it. He is a tough player to beat.

                • I enjoyed the final. It wasn't an absolute classic, but it had its moments, and Walden played really well towards the end. As I said last night, he is probably the most surprising winner of a really big event in the last seven years, which says a lot of about the quality needed to win one, and it puts him in great company.

The tournament as a whole was pretty good as well. It didn't have the attendances of the last two years, but it made up for it with the quality of the snooker itself and the excitement of the matches, particularly yesterday's semi-final.

Looking forward to the UK Championship now, and of course the Champion of Champions as well, although that will be a little harder to follow for me.
