I missed some of the frames as sunday is my snooker
day which I enjoyed and then some family matters took
priority but what I saw was impressive. I will enjoy watching
the match in review and it sounds like it was a well played
match by both players. O'Sullivan was a deserving winner
and Trump gave it a good effort.
You're in for a real treat. I'm rewinding and watching the last session again.
Brilliant tournament this and a fantastic final, almost played in the spirit of an exhibition match. Great coverage as well by ITV liked the hot shot feature as well.
Great for the fans, great for the players and great for snooker events like these.
what a top game of snooker, both played outstanding snooker, i don't think anyone other than Ronnie could have beaten Judd in the form he was in, he played sublime snooker, especially the afternoon session.
the match lived up to its billing
i also loved the coverage, well done to ITV4 , at least after the final they keep it going for a while , giving good analysis from McManus and Folds, plus looking back on best moments. great to see, rather than the BBC as soon as the match is over goodnight and goodbye.
i hope more tournaments in the future are covered by ITV
One of the best matches I've seen. Loved it. Both were awesome. and the interviews were great too. Some of Ronnie's middle pocket-potting is just ridiculous. Great tournament over all.
ITV4's coverage is just brilliant. Not only are the pundits and commentators FAR better than on the BBC (Hendry/Davis aside), but the post match analysis is also far better. It's what I've always said - the BBC end the World Final program about 10 minutes after the last ball is potted. I literally can't think of a singe sport that does that. Everything feels rushed. Having a proper build up and analysis is just so much more interesting. Even the extra camera angles make a huge difference, IMO. ITV's coverage feels so fresh and....'big time'. It felt like a main event (commentators help so much here). I really hope whoever is in charge of snooker at the BBC watches and realises it's time for a change.
Willie Thorne, John Virgo, Ken Doherty and Terry Griffiths need to go - they don't inspire or enlighten with anything, really. The pundit/commentary team needs to be built around Davis, Hendry, Foulds, Everton, McManus and Dave Hendon.
I'd love it if we could have another big-time UK event on the ITV at some point.

I disagree entirely, just show the snooker and let the public make their own minds up. Nobody needs anyone else to tell them what they are actually watching, that is simply marketing and drumming up interest in something that is actually boring, like the premier league, where the football is crap and the only talking points are refereeing decisions and manager's perceived mind games and the general consensus becomes the pundits viewpoint because no one is thinking for themselves.
If the participants deliver, in whatever sport you are watching, it will sell itself, like last nights Champion Of Champions final, and indeed the whole tournament did. Nothing whatsoever to do with ITV, everything to do with Trump and O'Sullivan and the rest of the boys involved. If the tournament was crap and Selby won a boring final nobody would be talking about how good McManus was in the commentary box.
By the way, why not ITV1 or 2 so that I can watch it on my widescreen tv and not resort to my pc. I live in an area where I can't get a signal from the main transmitter and get less than half the Freeview channels, ITV 3 & 4 aren't available to me yet ITV1 +1 and Channel 4+1 are

Absolutely what I was thinking last night - the worlds usually finish, following an astonishing 17 days, and there's a 5 minute love-in with Hazel on the stairs and then "well, see you next tournament"
I loved the extra analysis, the fact they avoided all the celebrity distractions and the fact they had proper interview questions - Ronnie actually seems engaged when people are asking him something other than "So how did you feel you played?"
