Come on you Ronnie haters! He just won the UK Champs with a broken/sprained ankle. You can't blame him for not playing his "A" game.

Has anyone got a link to the last hour (or the deciding frame)?

All I can find on youtube is session 1.

    Thanks!

Edit: found the second half of the match

I got my good evening of snooker in the end. At 9-4 I never thought this match would come anywhere close to being a classic, but the last hour or so was great stuff. And that's all that will be remembered from this match, except by the few of us who have a good memory for mediocre snooker.

Every credit to Trump for the way he came back into the match. He really had O'Sullivan under pressure and I thought he just might win when O'Sullivan missed that black off the spot in the penultimate frame. As Trump said, he still has a lot to learn, and I do hope he looks back at some of his tactical choices and some of the frames he threw away in the first session and in the first couple of frames tonight. If he looks back to some of his performances this week, and some of O'Sullivan's, he will probably wonder how the hell he is not the UK champion. He probably would have been, had he not left himself so much to do tonight.

A big thanks to O'Sullivan for getting me lots of points in the fantasy game, the title and a maximum as well, can't ask for more than that. He played better with each match, and he once again took command early on in the final, like so many times before. He wobbled a little towards the end, but played a pretty strong decider. I think the key shot was the safety he played to put Trump under pressure, the one that resulted in Trump bringing a red up the table and giving him the chance to play the snooker. He could have easily lost the match if he hadn't played such a good shot there.

And finally, let's end on a somewhat negative note... Sometimes you get tournaments where everyone seems to be playing really well, sometimes it's only a couple of players, but the winner almost always has to play some good snooker throughout the week. O'Sullivan didn't play too badly tonight, but I think his performance throughout the tournament is probably the worst I have seen from any winner of a really big tournament since I've been watching snooker. I usually try not to resort to overstatements to make a point, so I hope I am not doing so here. He was let off the hook so many times by various players, and he was rarely pushed to raise his game, which is a great shame. He was the one left standing in the end, which is all you can ask from a player, but some of his rivals will have to have a think about the mediocre standard that was required to win this tournament and why they themselves weren't able to achieve it.

Looking forward to the Masters.

Poor man's Ronnie has lost again with his uncontrolled position and madman's fast cueing showing off his power and lack of intelligence. The king has wins with champion position and his B-game because he can.

Higgins and Selby are (rightly) praised when they win tournaments with their B/C game. Why not ROS?

That being said if he plays like this at the worlds or Masters, then he won't win anything if he faces an in form Robertson/Trump/Selby etc.
Agreed. There is no rocket science to this, it's followed the same pattern since ROS came back and won the Worlds in 2012. If he plays at the top of his game (like Champion of Champions), he wins, no matter who he plays or how well they play. If he doesn't play to the top of his game, he still wins due to either i) his b game is better than mosts a game, or ii) he has them beat before his hits a ball.

Where it doesn't fall into this category is against the very top players, Ding, Selby, Robertson, Trump. Then it is down to can they play their a game, if they can they have a very good chance of winning. Trump just fell short tonight.

It gets boring n monotonous my dear ... They can praise Ronnie all they want but they overdo it a bit. He is great but to me even Peter Ebdon is a great in his own way. I find Joe Swail to be a great as well ... I mean one gets sick of this broken ankle talk ... n genius n this n that ... the guy has exceptional talent but he is very beatable ... and has been beaten many times fair n square ... so lets keep it real ... if I have to chose a guy to bet my life on a snooker frame ... Even Steve Davis would come before Ronnie ... Higgins or Selby or even Robertson are more reliable than Ronnie ... all thi shype all the time gets to me ..... n I repeat I am a massive Ronnie fan but I respect Selby more coz he does not have half the talent of RoS ... still Selby stuffed Ronnie big time. not once .. many times ..... there were a few years ... RoS did not win a match against Higgins ... I can go on and on but I am sure u get my point

I don't think Ronnie would've won another major had he lost. Just like Hendry didn't after losing to Ebdon in 2002.

Seriously guys ... where have u all been .... if this was a great match for u .. u surely have not seen much snooker or dunno much about it either .... full of schoolboy errors ... terrible quality .... Trump strung together 3 nice breaks because Ronnie could not put away about a dozen chances to win the match at 10-4 and everyone is calling it an epic ... epic is when Higgins used to show who was the daddy ... or the way Selby murdered RoS ... compare that stuff with this n tell me it was an EPIC .... u lot have no clue

Exciting and a bit drama due to sheer lack of quality .. yes indeed ... great match ... nah not even close

Yeah I think losing in that way to go with the way he lost to Selby would have been agonising.
