Personally I think the new set up and the BO11 matches won't do any good to the UK. It doesn't feel as great and special as it used to.
Will anybody be like "Oh, the UK used to be so boring and old fashioned but now it feels so exciting and fresh, I must go and buy me some tickets!"? I don't think so. I'm no old person and I like watching snooker because it's old fashioned. And unhurried. And I don't like Barry Hearn

Was shocking to see Barry Hawkins knocked out after winning 5-0, sometimes snooker is very unpredictable.
I'm disappointed with Luca Brecel performance, even against Mark Allen he should have done better.
Ronnie O'Sullivan isn't at his best but enough to win so far.
Kyren Wilson had a solid match against Neil Robertson, seems a very promising player. The upset was very close.

Yes, most of the Chinese venues now have something similar. They can't project the image onto the table, but there is a large screen showing the current position of the balls, with circles around the spots balls need to be moved into. They even blink a little whenever a ball is moved exactly where it needs to be. It doesn't save on time that much, but it's very accurate and pretty much allows for flawless repositioning of all balls.

Funnily enough, there was a situation a couple of seasons ago when Eirian Williams failed to make use of this aid. A couple of colours had moved, and Eirian Williams was convinced one of them should go back onto its spot, even though the circle was somewhere completely different. In the end he didn't fully trust the technology and prefered to rely on his own memory instead. Needles to say the technology was right and he ended up making a real mess of things.

i was surprised the commentary didn't analyse it further.
Well observed mate. And I do the same on power shots and it's something I've been working on a lot in practice.

Getting back to Wilson. There was no reason for him to hit that shot that hard. Just normal speed and he'd have been on something. In fact. I felt he hit the ball too hard throughout most of the match.

    Congrats Neil.

    From the World Snooker website:

He will be returning to Sheffield United's medical department to further his rehabilitation before his next match.

"I've been down there for the last three days solid and I owe them a big thank you," he said. "I have been getting them to put me through whatever footballers do when they break their ankles.

even football has made recent progress with the disappearing spray at free kicks.
    ok ducks for cover. .
i think its so easy to use technolgy, seems ridiculous they don't. with all the cameras they have plus Hawkeye they can use a it to take a digital image of the table. and in case of a miss just project the ball positions onto the table. would save loads of messing around and having to ask the chuckle brothers to keep telling them .....to the left to the right , to me, to you.
