  • Nice to see Robertson playing solid
    and winning comfortably.
    Walker could win as well.
Nice to see no marathon matches.

Not yesterdays news it's the result from the last big tournament!! He will improve once the business end of the week begins. As for Robertson or Allen beating him to be honest i dont fancy their chances. Allen will not be a real top player because of his technique and Robertson has a chance but doesn't normally beat ROS. Judd or Ding have more chance.

        • Not much excitement this afternoon then, but at least Robertson's performance was very strong and good to see. Probably his best snooker since the two summer tournaments. It could be a cracking last16 match with Graeme Dott.

O'Sullivan didn't impress, but he is still in the tournament with a chance to improve, and he will be favourite in his next match as well. Woollaston couldn't really give him much of a match today, just too many unforced errors, his pathetic attempt at a routine colour clearance in the 2nd frame being the best example. A shame really, because the tougher pots were mostly going in. This was his second great chance this season to beat a struggling O'Sullivan...

I'm really looking forward to tonight. Williams against Maguire is the best match of the round on paper, makes sense of course, because Williams was the strongest player ranked outside the top16, and someone had to draw him early. Ding's match could be fun as well. He was quite good against White, but of course it's up to Cahill to play well and make a match of it.

            • The BBC make me laugh, you got Bingham v Walker on 5-5 and they show you last nights match? Jokers!
After 15 reds and 15 blacks i did this http://youtu.be/DupuczMS2o4

I don't think there are any cameras on those tables.

Looks like Bingham has won. Well done.

                • Jason Mohammed briefly switched to that table and then told us we were up to date, the camera was a bit far back though i suppose but you could still see the table, its wasn't on Eurosport or red button either.

I know what you mean. I'd sooner a fixed zoomed in camera then no camera at all.

                    • Yes, especially when they fill the time with Shaun Murphys favourite food, school subject etc, followed by his old match, live snooker should always be a priority!

                      • Really nervous about seeing the Williams vs Maguire match. One of the most irritating things about being a Williams fan is he could go from playing flawless snooker to playing really poor snooker, and then back to good again, and then back down again. To me, his form seems more erratic nowadays.

The beauty is, so is Maguire Could be a rather erratic match, hopefully close until the very last frame.

It's probably true for a lot of players but I find Williams harder to bear since he used to win like 3-4 titles a year.

                            • I don't think I'll ever understand the BBC's logic when it comes to their snooker coverage these days. Today they ran a piece with John Parrot talking to Mark Williams, saying how much we miss seeing him in the tv stages (very true). So naturally they'll have the Williams match on the red button at 7pm, right?

                              Wrong!?

                              Eurosport to the rescue... again!
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

No surprise there... Eurosport has been very dependable in regards to the snooker coverage over these past years...with each year more hours of coverage. Nowadays it's even both the afternoon and evening sessions on both channels! Can't ask for more than that really. I for one am very thankful, especially with the BBC more and more often missing complete sessions
