My hat off to Judd...he applied himself well, kept his focus and went on to pinch the frame...well done.

Edit : but still, like I said, he has done well and seems to go on and finish the match off now.Last edited by daffie; 4 December 2014, 05:19 PM.

6-5 on the final black, just the way I like it.
Murphy looked like the better player throughout the match, and indeed could have won the match earlier, when some bad luck and the poor conditions stopped him on a couple of occasions. But in the end he has to admit it was all in his hands there, but he played a shocking shot to snooker himself behind the blue.
Once again he came to a major tournament on the back of some success in the smaller tournaments, but he failed to deliver. This was the fourth major ranking event out of five this season where he has failed to reach at least the quarter-finals now. If you count the Champion of Champions as well, he now has 11 wins out of 11 against the lower-ranked players, and 0 out of 6 against fellow top16 players.
As for Fu, obviously he can improve in the next round, like he did from the 1st to the 2nd round last week, and he will need to, because Maguire was quite strong the other day.
