    • Don't know what Shaun Murphy was thinking there - neither he nor the commentators noticed that the yellow spot was available for the black, so he could have just played the black and stunned down for the red on the black spot. The black would not have been in the way.

the fixture list has ROS match as Match #1 but not first in the sessions (often the session do not follow match numbers).
I know for sure that when Neil Robertson was defending champ he played the opening match the following year against Ding Junhui, but that could have been a coincidence I suppose.
Can't remember now if Selby played opening match last year, my snooker memory not as good as Odrl's!!

They never mention that John Spencer's long black in 1975 was a re-spot in the decider. Ken just said "final frame climax".

Surely they must know that it was a re-spot?

                            Great black under the circumstances!

                            • Hi everyone - I'm new here! I thought that someone who's been to the Masters before in Ally Pally might be able to help... Me and the bf are watching the final evening session on Sunday and I wondered whether anyone knew:

                              - Whether there was anywhere in Ally Pally to watch the BBC2 coverage of the game? As in, if we turn up for 1pm can we watch the first match in venue bar before going into the second half?
                              - If not, are there any snooker friendly pubs in the area that are showing the match?

It takes us a little while to get to Ally Pally from home, and I'd hate to miss the end of the first half if it runs on pretty long!

Any suggestions / help would be great. Apologies if this info has already been posted somewhere and I've missed it.

                              Thanks!
                              :-)

I'm sure I heard Ken say a "black ball frame"
                                just rewound...
he said "...John Spencer beating Ray Reardon in a Black Ball finish..."
