        • This is an exciting match as both players are
playing well and making some nice breaks.
Tough to pick a winner but whoever makes less
          mistakes should take it.

              Ah, that explains it.

Bad frame to lose for Higgins, particularly as there were four reds on cushions after he broke down. This is just the kind of thing that has frustrated him a lot lately, so it will be interesting to see how he reacts after the interval.

Mmm. She was/is such a popular ref (especially with the BBC) that I can't imagine her retirement would have gone without mention (unless I missed it).

I'm just wondering if the pressure and nerves of working in front of a TV audience has finally got the better of her. She never seemed to handle difficult situations very well (remember when she couldn't respot the pink because it meant nestling it between the pack of reds - she started shaking so much it became embarrassing for all concerned. In the end, she managed to put the pink in place, but even though it wasn't in the right place no one said anything because of the embarrassment).

"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

I remember that incident very well indeed. It was a rather difficult situation to be fair, especially because of the spot the pink had to be placed (in amongst the reds) and the length of extension to get across with her arms/hands...not easy at all! I can imagine Jan Verhaas having no problem whatsoever being the rather tall lad that he is Michaela is definately not short, but for an average length person I think spotting that pink was not the easiest thing to do...and that's without the added pressure of having to do it on live tv with an audience of oh say a couple of thousand watching in the arena

No, I really think she did rather well that time.

Oh and talk about difficult situations and being able to handle the pressure....that time ROS was 'tossing his cue off' at one point...which was a rather disgusting thing to do imo. Michaela was the ref and warned ROS not to do that anymore She could have just as easily ignored it, but decided to put her foot down...I thought that was very well done and gutsy as well.

Anyway...back to the game at hand

                        • Snooker escape achieved!! The result of that 8th frame couldn't have yielded a happier conclusion to the mini-session for me. GO Allen!!!
