Trump and Robertson both win 5-0.

Looking forward to Ding, Robertson and Trump tomorrow.

Well, I think Allen-Williams will be the better match, and I'm sure many people were looking forward to it the minute they saw the last32 draw. Their match in the semi-finals of the International Championship was one of the best matches of the season so far, in terms of quality as well as excitement. It's the match of the round here and it's not televised.

O'Sullivan against Davis is fair enough I suppose, since Davis is himself one of the more interesting unseeded players, but I suspect they would have shown O'Sullivan even if he was playing someone like Mike Dunn. As a fan of snooker I cannot possibly agree with that preference, but I understand why O'Sullivan is always first choice. The bigger problem is that we have a major ranking event where only one table is televised, and we can't see the matches we want to see as a result.

When they dumbed down the UK Championship and the Welsh Open, the excuse was that they wanted to get everything on TV, and now we can't even watch a pairing like Williams-Allen in an early round. :frown:

Disappointing Ding once again, what is going on with him this season?

Good break from Day in the decider, but to be fair, he was extremely lucky to survive that penultimate frame. Not just because Ding missed match ball pink, but Ding also had a great chance early in the frame and saw the white go in when he screwed off the pack for the blue on 30. He then got a huge kick when playing position on the last red, left himself a difficult pot, and finished on the cushion as a result. It reminded me a lot of how Higgins lost to Selby in the Masters last year.

What I mean is, if they are playing they'll be on telly.

But, you're right. It only takes two or three days before there's limited choice which matches they put on.

              Enough already. .

Right lads , don't you realise that some of us are at work, and have the snooker set to record ?

I get TSF at work, but even avoiding going into the German Masters thread, I see the first line in the "what's new" listing.

If you could all fill up the first line of any post with non related guff, like for example :-

              "===================================="

              or similar, then I won't inadvertantly see anyresults / news . .

Ding has been very disappointing lately. He used
to crush most players and now he is fortunate if
he doesnt lose early in tournaments.
I hope he can turn his game around.

Great idea for us (hardly?) working-lads waiting to race home to watch the recorded snooker....

Maybe not for the German Masters, but don't forget to turn off all radios on your journey home, for the bigger competitions. .

I've had many a journey ruined by some fool blurting out the snooker news on local / national radio. .

Why they can't just get on with playing beige music, is beyond me. . .

A pretty good performance from O'Sullivan today. I'm sure he will like the look of the draw now, he has a very good record over Perry, and there is every chance of playing Murphy in the quarter-finals, possibly followed by Bingham or Day. No one really with a history of causing him problems.

What do people think about the studio stuff so far? Loving the effort Eurosport is putting into snooker, with the ROS show and this now. I'm enjoying the less serious atmosphere as well, something different from the BBC and ITV offerings -- feels a bit like a day out with the lads this. The four of them have got a pretty good dynamic, should only get better if they spend more time together doing this. Hope Eurosport keeps it up!

On a related note, Ronnie has also somehow turned into a fantastic interview in the last couple of years. The contrast to his interviews during the unhappy years is staggering.

Yes. A relaxed Ronnie is a happy Ronnie.
