Well played Liang, great break and nice to see a contest. I feared at 3-0 that this was going to be over very quickly. Nice to see a different face in the latter stages of a tournament actually taking the game to one of the top players.
It is so depressing to watch Wenbo play snooker ..... talented enough to be a world champion 6-7 years back ..... n still making elementary mistakes at the rate of 5 every frame ... plays the wrong shot at the wrong time and basically is as clueless a player as Luca Brecel when it comes to using your brain alongside potting balls.
By the way I am a big time Wenbo fan and the odds of 1-15 at 3-0 down were so insulting that I had to put 10 kr on him ... its 3-3 now .. but what worries me is that he is winning these due to complete incompetence of Murphy instead of his own ability. It is just soooo sad.y
I wouldn't call it depressing... I've actually found the match to be quite entertaining so far.
Liang threw two frames away earlier, and this time it was Murphy's turn. He did so well to get back into the frame from a tough position, but the positional shot from blue to yellow was pretty bad, and in the end he just played one pot too many.
This is why I have never rated Smurf too high ... just does not have it what it takes ... 2005 was a fluke .... Wenbo must be wondering whats going on here ... gets 7 gifts a frame from Smurf and funnily needs all 7 of them to limp over
Liang was never anywhere near good enough to win the worlds 6-7 years ago what are you talking about Mr negative? Murphy has just played so badly this game. He is making mistake after mistake and Liang always makes a mess of things.
Murphy bottled it a bit in this frame. It's amazing, he gets some really tough shots, like that positional shot from blue to yellow, only to miss a sitter and gift the frame to Liang. Looks like pressure is getting to him now.
Superb stuff from Murphy in the last two and a half frames. Another major final then, can he win two major titles in a row for the first time in his career?
I guess this match had quite a few turning points in the end, but I think the key one was after Murphy played that awful safety at 4-3, and Liang had the scoring chance to make it 5-3. He had the black open, but he kept having to play baulk colours until he eventually missed. That was where someone like O'Sullivan or Robertson would have got perfect position within a shot, and things would be pretty easy from then on. Still, a good week for him, and hopefully he won't have to wait another five years for the next one.
Another excellent match, this has been a great tournament so far, for me anyway, and no reason to expect less from the remaining matches. Looking forward to tonight.
I like these mid-session and post-match interviews they're doing on Eurosport now. Murray isn't my favourite presenter, but there are worse, could have been Allen Green! And I must say, I've been quite impressed with Ronnie's contributions, so far.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

It's about time Eurosport expands the coverage a bit... part of the greatness of the BBC events is pre-/middle-/post- thingies they do. But yeah, Murray's a bit to "funny" for my taste...
Maguire vs. Selby should be a cracker tonight, very glad to see Maguire's coming to form again and I would love to see him in the final. No idea how far Selbys form improved from the poor standard he was playing recently, but we all know how he's able to win any game even with his (sadly kinda destructive) b-game.
