Borderline obese isnt what I see at all. Yes snooker
is a demanding sport and its good to be physically
and mentally prepared.
Several players have been making the effort to get
into better physical shape and using coaches to help
with the mental side and it seems to be helping a lot.
Hopefully Brecel and other European players can keep
winning as it will help snooker to grow elsewhere.

Brecel is still 19 years old and he's borderline obese. What's he going to look like when he's 30? I realize that snooker isn't a physically demanding sport, but it doesn't mean that you have to be overweight. Throw in a tossed salad once in a while Luca.

I guess players like Stephen Lee have won major tournaments, but to be at your absolute peak you need to be in the best physical condition that you can be. That extra 5% can make a difference.

I'd really like to see Brecel become the star that continental Europe needs to take snooker to the next level globally, but until he stops going for every borderline pot and starts eating better and working out I'm afraid he's never going to fulfill his potential.

What are you guys looking at? He's not quite in the Mark Allen category, but he's easily 20-25 pounds overweight. Maybe if he was 30 or 35 it wouldn't be a big deal, but he's still a teenager. It's unhealthy and has to impact your performance.

When will sports commentators stop talking about "momentum"? It's mostly a myth.

I challenge anybody to look at all matches where a player was three behind with four to go and won three frames to go to a decider. You'll find that who wins the decider is a 50/50 proposition or slightly favours the better player regardless of who supposedly had the "momentum"

Now, final for me Stevens/Williams vs. Brecel, and it will turn out to be superb tournament. Also this might help him a lot securing his tour place, he was just below before this tournament.
