  • Hearn has been generally good for the game, but he's too stubborn by half. Snooker is not darts, nor is it 9-ball. This is an appalling event and a lot of things badly need putting right before this time next year, not least the ridiculous best of 7 rounds.

    • You fall asleep for ten minutes (easily done at my age) and by the time you open your eyes MJW is 4-0 up. What a stunning performance...

It's just great to see him on the telly again, but playing like this is the icing on the cake.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

        • Just got back home from work and have some catching up to do Terry Griffiths as commentator on Eurosport?! That is fantastic. Looking forward to the Higgins Maguire match...

Edit : Terry for one minute then back to normal with Studd and Johnson... weird stuff going on at eurosport.

          • Why doesn't snooker take a lead from cricket where play can continue after the official end time of a test match if a result is likely to be reached, and in situations like this let the fifth frame be played rather than take the interval?

Because you don't play snooker with a cricket bat.

And that's why I never place a bet...

They must be sharing the broadcast with BBC Wales.

                      • The winner certainly could be Williams or Higgins
but I wouldnt count Walden out.

eurosport tend to use other broadcaster's feed, the only event they do themselves is the German Masters I believe, hence they had a "studio" setup
                          Up the TSF! :snooker:

                          • I can't believe it. I've been out most of the afternoon but come back to find out that Williams has beat Marco Fu.

So both Williams and Higgins are through to a quarter final. Have I entered some sort of parallel universe and I'm back in the 90's?

What the hell has happened here?

It's a tournament none of the top players particularly care about. That's what's happened here.

                              • Why would the top players not care about this tournament?
Surely the ranking points and money would be more than
                                enuff plus professional pride.
