  • John starting to show just what a classy player he is and the skill level he's got to win multiple world titles. If John fully gets into his groove then this could be a masterclass.

    • I think of the 3 other semifinalists, Brecel would have had the best chance of beating Higgins. Williams could have done it, of course, but has history, and Woollaston just doesn't look good enough.

      • Looks like Higgins is starting to believe he can actually do this. It's going to be tough for Woollaston from now on.

        • I think it's Higgin's title to lose now. Woollaston doesn't have the firepower to put him under pressure. And anyone thinking this is a Higgins resurgence might be disappointed. The only way Higgins was going to win another tournament was with the big guns misfiring and going out early. The only top quality player he's beaten this week is Maguire, and he played so badly Higgins took it 5-1 with a potting percentage of 88%.

          • when a play is struggling technically he knows his opponent can spot it a mile off, so the pressure is compounded, with you struggling and you know the other player knows and that feeds him confidence. with a player like john its blood in the water..
even if ben comes out after the interval cueing properly john will know that with a bit of pressure he'll get him jabbing again

            • but bens a class player with all the ability to win this

              • Higgins is arguably the finest all round snooker player of all time. The only way you beat him is to put him under early pressure and reopen all those doubts he has been tormented by over the past few seasons. Woollaston will not be able to do that. Could be a runaway.

Yeah. I'm a bit worried about that too.

I'm sure Ben will come good in the next session.

                  • Getting out of the session at 5-3 is minimum damage limitation for Woollaston. Anything worse and he's gone. Even that probably won't make any difference.

                      I'm hoping 4 each

                      • tbh Higgins is just cueing 10 times better than Woollaston.

That's true. Even in the two frames he's won, Woollaston hasn't looked smooth. Shame, I would love to see him win.

                          • I looked at Higgins draw now. A draw made in heaven. Apart from a Quaters against Maggie and maybe , just maybe Liang before....
Semis against Bercel and a Final against Woolaston is a gift you have to take.

                            • Ben seems to have the right mindset for this. I'm probably more impressed of him than Brecel.

                              • Hate to see Higgins being gifted a title like this. Makes me angry at those top seeds who didn't exactly bust a gut trying earlier in the competition.
