      2000: Benson and Hedges Championship
      2005: World Championship
      2007: Malta Cup
2008: UK Championship, Malta Cup, Paul Hunter Classic
2009: Premier League winner, Paul Hunter Classic, World Series Grand Final
2011: PTC Players Tour Championship Finals
2014: Gdynia Open, Haikou World Open, Victoria Bulgarian Open, Kreativ Dental Ruhr Open
      2015: Dafabet Masters

Not to mention being number 7 in the world and having completed a maximum 5 times now.

A lot better record then Stevens. That's for sure.
Yes I was just reiterating a point I made during the Masters where the commentators were saying between a frame that Murphy has underachieved, nothing against SM but I don't really think he's better than Stevens Maguire or Allen but he has a better record than those 3 so I agree with your point that I don't really think he's underachieved.

he has done 4 maximums; 3 of them were made in one calendar year which had not been done before

maybe Murphy thinks he has under achieved himself

his record is up there with the best and I am sure more is to come

looking forward to Higgins vs Georgiou
after yesterdays masterclass by Higgins against Liang this will probably be Georgiou's greatest challenge ever? He has done very well so far to get to his highest round placement.
Brecel will also have a task at hand as I am sure Selby wont give him as many chances as Brown did!

              • Re Michael Georgiou,London seems to have a paucity of pro snooker players since Jimmy White Tony Meo and Davis, was Davis even a Londoner? Martin O'Donnell,Sean O'Sullivan, does Romford with Mark King and Watford with Martin Gould count? thats about all I know.

not sure, from the listings I have seen there are many English players in the amateurs and QSchool but not seen whether they are from London (or Essex)

                  • Brecel v Selby is match of the day, the former being fearless and an expert potter, should be a good game in "sunny" wales today.

                    • Dean, what's the score in the Higgins match?

Worldsnooker livescore said Georgiou was in the lead, then suddenly gave the frame to Higgins. Very strange

Higgins pinched the first frame by one point
Georgiou maintained a lead to take the second

                          • Great to see Luca respond a 2-0 down.

That last frame could have gone either way.

                            Com'on!!!

                            • Brecel is still 19 years old and he's borderline obese. What's he going to look like when he's 30? I realize that snooker isn't a physically demanding sport, but it doesn't mean that you have to be overweight. Throw in a tossed salad once in a while Luca.

I guess players like Stephen Lee have won major tournaments, but to be at your absolute peak you need to be in the best physical condition that you can be. That extra 5% can make a difference.

I'd really like to see Brecel become the star that continental Europe needs to take snooker to the next level globally, but until he stops going for every borderline pot and starts eating better and working out I'm afraid he's never going to fulfill his potential.
