Think Fu will win.....only did it for a bit of fun . Twitchy bum time if Stevens does win though . Only backed him because of where the match is being played . Thought the crowd may lift his performance .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

      • Just to go back to the 6 snookers needed from this afternoon. What if a player needs 10 snookers and only the pink and black are left on the table.

Is there anything preventing the player from playing on if he decides he wants to? Maybe he just really dislikes his opponent and wants to tire him out and annoy him. Does the referee have the power to step in and stop the match if things are obviously way out of hand?

Is there anything in the snooker rule book about matches dragging on when it's obvious that it's no longer a competition to see who will win?

there is nothing to stop a player continuing if they so wish. The frame is not over until conceded by one player or only the black on the table and the score difference more than 7, or all balls potted.
There is a rule of ungentlemanly or unsportsmanship that a ref can use if your scenario is apparent. The offending player would be warned and the frame /match could be awarded to the opponent if said behavior continues.
          never seen this scenario though

If it was O'Sullivan or Robertson he never would have done that. It really made me lose some respect for him.
I know both Selby and Woollaston from years back. Spoke to Woollaston at York UK Championship. Nothing wrong being arrogant around the table and considering status at pro level they get like this. It never used to put me off playing them. I beat Mark Selby 3-1 rec 40 for my status at the time 4 years ago abeit playing on something like club tables. I never heard the last from him. His manners and verbals was of poor loser. I am pension age now. However, I agree being arrogant and disrespectful to a pro colleague of any status is not good. Some of my Leicestershire friends cannot stand Selby either. Some pros are obsessed with winning and holding status of the big four.

at the end of his match earlier, Woollaston was more than happy to sign lots of programmes and he continued to have a chat with someone for some time

I did a five fold bet at the Crucible 1st round I think in successive years, both bets turned to dust in the fifth match, the first year Mark Davis had some kind of bug or cold and was awful against Ali Carter, the next time Sam Baird was rubbish against Stuart Bingham,I wonder will yours get as far as the fifth,or better still........

I think a rule should be introduced whereby a player only gets 3 goes at extracting penalty points when snookers are required. If he fails 3 times in a row, the frame is automatically conceded. If he extracts penalty points within 3 attempts, he gets 3 more 'lives' and so on. Some players deliberately attempt to get a ridiculous amount of snookers with one thing in mind....to annoy/slow down his opponent.

                          • I don't think I've seen so many kicks in one day of snooker before. Just amazing.

I read a story on Joe Davis playing an exhibition way back where his opponent got in and ran down to the pink and I think Joe needed 10 snookers or so to win and he was pissed off because the guy was giving him the gears so he played on. I think the story was in his autobiography and he said he eventually won the frame. Of course he was a champion billiards player before he took up snooker so I imagine he could put the cueball wherever he wanted.
