  • this is really higgins tornament to lose. i know he isnt playing well but from semi finals on he plays his best stuff.

MJW has a mental block against Higgins, choked two importand matches in 2010/2011. Brecel, Wilson and Walden (to a less extent) are inexperienced

If MJW can end his O'sullivan hoodoo I'm sure he can end the Higgins one.

      • I've timed it perfectly today, just finished watching the Williams match a few minutes before the evening session starts.

What a great performance that was, some of the best snooker anyone has played all season. On top of that, everything seemed to be going for him. He hits the knuckle when potting a red to the middle, it goes in anyway, he cannons a small cluster almost dead weight and pushes a red on, he plays a cannon and it looks like he is snookered on the loose red, but he pushes a plant on... I literally laughed out loud when that happened.

Williams had his moments in the International Championship as well, but before that you probably have to go back to 2011 to find him playing as well as today. If the likes of Selby and Robertson were still in the tournament it would be a tough job for Williams, but he surely has a good chance to win the title now.

Good win for Higgins as well, although he did struggle to get over the line a bit, and Maguire had some really bad luck. But the encouraging thing for Higgins is that his long game seems to be back. It was tough to keep him away from the table today.

So both Williams and Higgins are through to a quarter final. Have I entered some sort of parallel universe and I'm back in the 90's?

What the hell has happened here?
Not sure neither. All I know is that I'm very happy to see both John and Mark come through!!! Now onwards to the Final for both... :snooker:

If ever I showed this to someone not familiair with snooker, they would need a lifetime figuring out what you just said there

            • Brecel cant keep leaving Walden chances as Walden
seems to be in his 'zone' and playing well.

              • Suicidal stuff from Brecel.

                • Looks like an early night for Luca (and Walden for that matter).

Luca looks a bit slimmer today. He must have read my comments and started a diet last night.

                    • I've been watching snooker for over 30 years and that is without doubt the poorest frame that I've ever seen two professional players play. It was 16-7 with only 6 reds left on the table.

                        • Yes very poor indeed. And I personally never liked Brecel's highly cavalier style of play. But anyway...hoping Walden can come through in the end.

Yes, I hope so too, but I doubt it now. How on earth he lost that 6th frame.

Walden has always been a bottle merchant when it gets down to the nitty gritty.
