Yes Luca mentioned that he is now putting in much
more time and work into his game and is also getting
coaching for the mental side of his game. It is paying
off so I hope he continues. Other players could pay
attention to Luca and others like Murphy who are also

Also I had a feeling yesterday it might be a Higgins vs williams old school final. Don't think I could stay around all day tomorrow though sadly.
Hate the way this event isn't on non Wales.bbc2 as today it isn't even on red button stream. Guess have to watch live or over the net which I can't get on my to either...

I hope Williams makes it through his semi-final today although that one could go either way. Brecel will have to find the form that put Selby out in the latter half of their match. Whatever happens, there's no way Higgins will fall apart in the shocking manner of Walden. Well this Welsh tournament being a pretty poor one, I'm looking forward to a clash of the dinosaurs for the Final. Would be great to see Higgins and Williams against each other once again....a real blast from the past!

Well, I spent all night watching the Walden-Brecel match in the end, only finished around 5.30 in the morning. :smile:
I have to say I enjoyed the two one-sided matches more, because at least there was some quality snooker played there, particularly from Williams.
Not much to say about the semi-finals really... I don't think either pair have ever played each other outside of the PTCs, so there isn't much history between them. We also have that funny situation again, where Woollaston has reached a major ranking semi-final without being on TV all week, so I have no idea how well he is playing. I suspected yesterday's match against Wilson would be scrappy, and Woollaston did describe it as that in his post-match comments, but he goes back to being the underdog today, so we might see him relax and play his best snooker. This is all new territory for him though, and while he is not really a "youngster" as someone described him earlier in this thread, he still has a huge disadvantage in experience here. Williams has without doubt played the best snooker out of these four players, so I would make him the tournament favourite now, but that might work against him, because he is now under pressure to get to the final, while no one really expected him to challenge for the title before the tournament started. He looks like he is extremely confident at the moment, happy to leave himself tricky pots during breaks, and he hasn't missed many balls at all. He does tend to play a poor match here and there for no particular reason though, as do most players of his age. I think it's a long enough match for Williams to find his form and make the difference in his favour. Williams to win 6-3.
The other match is perhaps harder to call, mainly because Higgins showed some weakness yesterday, but was pretty lucky Maguire had such a bad day. The encouraging thing is that his long game was back, so he was able to force scoring chances as well as keep breaks going when he got into trouble. The occasional missed sitter is still there though, and sooner or later that will cost him, so he needs to cut that out. He is in a similar position to Williams, not one of the favourites before the tournament started, but now expected to make the final, with all the top players already gone. Not sure what to think of Brecel really... He was superb against Selby, but yesterday he would have lost heavily if Walden was not so badly out of sorts. Weird post-match comments from Brecel as well, saying how he "finds his best form" when he goes behind, and that he thought Walden wouldn't win another frame after he made it 3-1. He should be realistic enough to know he needs to raise his game today, because Higgins won't just gift him the match. He pots some good balls and he played good safety yesterday, so it might happen for him, but I will go for Higgins to win 6-4.
I am fairly pessimistic about the snooker we might see today, but I have been pleasantly surprised many times in the past, so I'm looking forward to it anyway. :smile:Comment

I have a feeling Higgins is going to slaughter Bracel today. I think he will put in a performance today and will get a little help from Luka. same goes for Williams later but it will be slightly closer i think. Hoping for a class of 92 final.Comment
