      • Damn I see Eurosport will only air 1,5 hours of this afternoon session due to live football. Too bad, will need to watch the rest online then...not my favorite way of watching snooker. Still, luckily Eurosport are back for the complete evening session.

        • I think its because I have a naturally attacking instinct when it comes to sport netball I was a GS Football a Striker and Winger Rugby a Winger Pool always look for the match winning shot and even try and pot my way out of snookers snooker always looking for the attacking shot and like to pot my way out of snookers my first instinct in both cuesports even when snookered is to look at the potting angle

          • I need coffee to clear my headache after reading that. No punctuation is a bitch to follow

But I hear you regarding your attacking instinct. Me, I have always loved the high-intensity dramatic safety/tactical battles in snooker. There's just so much more to watch than in one-way traffic and high breaks. Those have their own beauty though...

              • I was the same with cricket...fast bowler. Once bowled 6 for 28...not too shabby huh.

Oh those teenage years...where have they gone

                • The breaks for me are to be admired, it takes a lot of skill to get perfect position on a 25 shot minimum break. I think my maths is right takes a minimum of 25 shots to make a century

                  • 10 for 0, in the playground nothing better than bowling on concrete with a taped up tennis ball, never felt the need to play for a team the only problem with me was I liked the Yorker too much and pitched in either too far or not quite far enough sometimes. although once bowled someone with a half volley. to be fair the 4 balls before it were bouncers

                    • Big breaks as I said before definately have their own beauty...something to be admired for sure. As far as watching the game is concerned, I really like to see a battle between both players, a battle within each and every frame...and that discounts big breaks. Back&forth is what I like to see, mistakes are fine as well, but only if those highten the overall tension of a match.

As far as the cricket is concerned, I started playing in Holland when I was 8 years old when the game was still in its infancy in our country. I had wonderful times being aroung only-English speaking folks and learned a lot. I was a highly clumsy batsman and often went out for a duck But I was a pretty decent fast bowler. I even had one where I put spin on the fastball as well, so when the ball landed it would take a turn. If it worked, leaving the batsman totally flabergasted

Anyway...sorry for the completely off-topic reminiscing ...those were some wonderful times in my memory...guess I'm just getting old

Slightly fewer, if your break starts with a colour after a miss, and you pot multiple reds in one shot a few times.

                        • I don't personally think Ding will lift another major trophy. I think he peaked to soon IMO Where some can Go forward and some collapse

When you say "major trophy", you mean at least the UK Championship? Because if you're saying he is never going to win another standard ranking event... that's a little crazy. He is only 28.

I don't agree. I do think Ding will be in for more major trophies. It all depends I guess, he seems to have on and off seasons. I do agree that he probably won't be one of the games top-players in regards to major trophy-wins over his whole career.

                              • Anyway, it should be a good day of snooker today.

Recent history suggests O'Sullivan should have the edge. They both played superbly in the Champion of Champions, but it was O'Sullivan who was more up for it in the final and took control of the match. Trump only started coming back into the match as he relaxed a bit. Perhaps more worrying for Trump is how the UK final went. Trump had played very well all week, while O'Sullivan had been quite mediocre, but suddenly in the final O'Sullivan played his best snooker of the week, while Trump played his worst. It was clear that O'Sullivan had more experience in how to prepare for the occasion, and on the table itself O'Sullivan showed a superior tactical game, which resulted in Trump being unable to defend a 40-point lead in several frames. Of course we all know what happened in the last six frames, and I hope Trump plays like that right from the start this time.

As has been mentioned already, O'Sullivan has reached this final without making a century all week, and although he has won some frames in one visit, he has also wasted a few chances unexpectedly, so I definitely don't expect perfect snooker from him today. Trump played superbly in his first two matches, but had to dig deep yesterday after finding himself in trouble. He played some superb safety and showed great heart, and I think he has a good chance today.

So, who to go for? On one hand Trump is perhaps due a win, but on the other hand history is on O'Sullivan's side. I will go for Trump to win, and I hope it's a 10-9 either way at midnight.
